App Reviews

  • App you logs out

    By mtina44
App logs you out all the time. You have to input password and login over and over again.
  • Disappointing

    By Mel in NYC
The app freezes constantly and I have to close it after every viewing. The new free version is absolutely useless by “choosing” only 10 profiles to be viewed at a time. Incredibly disappointed that an app allegedly designed to help mindful people connect turned out to just be a way to generate cash.
  • Glitchy

I really want to love this app! It’s exactly what I’m looking for. But it’s so so so glitchy and makes the experience a lot less enjoyable.
  • Could be better

I loved the concept of this and was very excited to start using this app. I just thought you had to match before you were able to chat - maybe I’m wrong. But I was constantly receiving messages from people I did not “like” that were FAR out of the age preferences I set which made me feel uncomfortable. I wish you had to match before being able to chat.
  • Bait and switch?

    By RonOHono
This app started out okay. But after a couple of weeks or so, I stopped getting any matches. It's been several days and I've gotten ZERO matches. It seems to want me to subscribe to continue using this app yet I don't see anything that clearly says "subscribe to receive more matches." It feels like a bait & switch.
  • Does the opposite of what it intends.

So I had high hopes when I was first advertised to by this app, and downloaded it with the hope that it would help connect me to a pool of like-minded people to date. However, the app designers have crippled their own interface, not learning the lessons from other dating apps which have come before them, which severely limits the usefulness of this app. Here’s the big issue: you only get to see 10 profiles a day, and of those, you only get to like 3 of them. I get their thought process of why they’ve limited the functionality to the above - they want people to use this app more conscientiously than other dating apps, taking the time to really read the profiles and get to know the people before deciding which way to swipe. The issue is that they haven’t taken into account how actual human behavior works. Here’s why: 1) If you only had 10 profiles to look at per day, you might take more time to look through them. However, this app doesn’t exist in a vacuum - it exists in a world where there are other free dating apps. So as soon as you’re done with the 10 profiles in this app, you have all the other profiles in other apps to look through. This means that the users of this app aren’t limited to seeing 10 profiles a day; they can see hundreds or thousands. So no one is going to pay these 10 profiles any more attention than they’re going to pay the profiles in the other apps. 2) Only being able to like 3 profiles limits your dating options. There’s some game theory involved here, but the biggest issue is that you don’t get to see the 10 daily profiles before you choose who to match with; you have to make an irrevocable yes/no decision as you go through the list. Which means that almost every time you use the app, you’re going to regret the decisions you’ve made, because the odds of choosing the 3/10 people you like the most on the first pass, without being able to see all 10 people first, is quite small. 3) There’s very little interaction with this app on a daily basis. Because of the above, once you’re done with the 10 profiles & 3 likes, unless you’ve got a match there’s really nothing this app does for you for the rest of the day. In addition, because each person can only match with 3 people at most per day, the odds of you actually matching with someone is orders of magnitude lower than on another app. So you never really get that dopamine rush that keeps you coming back and actually using this app, which lowers the number of active users even further. In essence, what the developers tried to accomplish was to try and get people to slow down and actually read the user profiles before deciding who they like on the app. But in reality, the severe restrictions on how many profiles you can see and like per day lead to a FOMO that prevents you from doing that at all, since liking a profile you find interesting and moderately attractive could potentially prevent you from liking the profile of someone you’re extremely attracted to; what ends up happening as a result is you stop reading profiles, and only swipe right on the hottest profile pictures to avoid regretting the decisions you made. The developers really need to go back to the drawing board and really think about how the human psyche works, instead of creating an app for how they wish the human psyche worked.
  • Highly recommend

    By M. E,
Amazing app. So new and thoughtful, great concept. Not to mention, the best, most helpful and kind customer service.
  • Fabulous concept but needs work.

I’ve tried apps like Tinder and POF and have gone on dates on both, but you don’t get as meaningful of a scoop into the other persons core beliefs, values, goals, ideals, morals, dreams, or aspirations like you would on this app. It is definitely 100% NOT a hookup app. The most powerful and important part of this app and dating site is the profile set up. I would like to warn new users, however, that it will take about 20 minutes out of your schedule to fully and effectively fill out the profile. Not everyone has that kind of time but I believe it’s worth it if you’re truly wanting to make a deep and personal connection with somebody. I highly encourage it actually, as I get a feeling a quarter or half of the people that signed on to this thought it would be another interesting simple dating app and put hardly anything on their profile. How are you suppose to make a meaningful connection this way? I would also like to inform the new users that the way this app works is by giving you 10 profiles to see a day, and you can “like” a maximum of three per day. Here’s the catch, at the moment the app is a little glitchy, but from what I can understand is that you can’t move on to see the profile of the next person until you like or dismiss them, kinda like tinder, which was a little scary for me because what if the first guy that pops up is the best pick out of ten I’m looking through today? How would I know if I don’t like or dismiss him? You also can’t unlike them once you’ve “liked” them so, what if he’s a guy in the beginning of my 10 list of guys and I THINK I like him, I “like” two other more guys, and then I realize that there is a much more interesting guy closer to the end of my 10 guy batch that I like more than the guy I “liked” in the beginning of my batch and I want to like him instead? Well I can’t like him because I’ve reached my maximum “likes” of the day, so there goes a possible connection I could have had. (Happened to me my very first day). You also can’t message them unless both of you like each other or one of you is premium. The messaging board needs work too. As of right now I believe you can only type or text. There’s no way of inserting interesting ice breaker gifs or anything yet. Every day is a new batch of 10 profiles. You have the option to choose your preference of guy, girl, both (or binary), or transgender. I like how every time you dismiss a profile there’s a little pause in between each one essentially reminding you to take a breather. I also like that if someone else likes you they kinda alert you of how many people have, tease you to switch to premium to feed your impatience, and reward you for being patient by having at least one of the people who liked you show up in your fresh batch of ten the very next day, with a little heart indicating they were the ones that liked you. I imagine it’s the same way on the other end. I like the slick minimalistic design and relatively easy to use interface. I love the concept of building an app around being mindful, and I think these developers are on the right track.
  • Asks too much...

    By maker97
You have to spend ten mins creating a profile. I deleted 21% into it. I know this because after 6 pages of questions I was only 21% complete.
  • Freezes often

    By Lulu in Chicago
I use the website on my laptop and it's fine - I have met some interesting people and one very good friend there. But the app constantly freezes and I can't scroll down to look at the full profile or I can't click on my preferences or profile to edit. The only way I have found to unfreeze it is to shut down and restart my phone. Ridiculous.
