Microsoft Authenticator App Details

Sign in is easy, convenient, and secure when you use Microsoft Authenticator. Use your phone, not your password, to log into your Microsoft account. You simply have to enter your username, then approve the notification sent to your phone. Your fingerprint, face ID, or PIN will provide a second layer of security in this two step verification process. After, you'll have access to all your Microsoft products and services, such as Outlook, OneDrive, Office, and more. Microsoft Authenticator also supports multi factor authentication for work, school, and non-Microsoft accounts. The app provides a second layer of security after your password. When logging in, you'll enter your password, and then you'll be asked for an additional way to prove it's really you. Either approve the notification sent to the Microsoft Authenticator, or enter the verification code generated by the app.  Sometimes your work or school might ask you to install the Microsoft Authenticator when accessing certain files, emails, or apps. You will need to register your device to your organization through the app and add your work or school account. Microsoft Authenticator also supports cert-based authentication by issuing a certificate on your device. This will let your organization know that the sign-in request is coming from a trusted device and help you seamlessly and securely access additional Microsoft apps and services without needing to log into each. Because Microsoft Authenticator supports single sign-on, once you have proven your identity once, you will not need to log in again to other Microsoft apps on your device.

  • Works well on Phone, Not watch

    By Jase1125
I constantly receiver errors stating the watch couldn’t communicate with Authenticator on my iPhone. It is frustrating that it works half the time.
  • Die

  • Are you kidding me

    By MSchally
I got the app so I could sign in somewhere else...then the app tells me I have to use the authentication app to sign in...when that’s what I’m trying to register for. Microsoft is stupid and so is this app. This is why google is so much better, easier, and reliable
  • Easy and Fast 2FA

    By wwdmm
This app works perfectly on all of my 2FA secures accounts. Transitioning between devices was relatively painless as well.
  • App rejected my account

    By Shearin69
With the two point verification, during a reset of my password, the app was unable to recognize my account, with no other way to verify the system submitted me for a 30 day wait to reset - I can only assume by mail. Conversation with online customer support yielded no help and I got from them regarding my paid subscription with Xbox yielded in non- support phones and scanner ads.
  • Sometimes is not working, please advise.

    By 蔡光明888
Sometimes is not displaying the approval window after the login request sent to the phone. Also, the password option should be off once user selected the option to use please advise, or password should be combined with the Authentication app. Thanks
  • Loses my backup!

    By staunchnortheasterner
I hope there will be significant bug fixes this week!
  • I can no longer check my email away from my desktop at work

    By Hunnyalrohaif
This app and this Microsoft security option is horrible. I actually hate our IT department for dealing with Microsoft and for upgrading to this security system. I work in the field so now I can't see my email except once a week maybe and I nothing shows up on my calendar. So imagine all the work I'm not doing because of this app and the so-not-user-friendly Microsoft solution.
