App Reviews

  • Flawed & Fraudulent

    By Maya Simone
Easy interface; user friendly. Easy on the eyes. Sound quality is great which is why I stuck around for so long. Constantly crashes. Whatever you listen to be it playlist, album, etc when you reopen the app (not even restart, just reopen) it starts where your playback initially began. The first song of the playlist, album, etc that you chose to listen to. It’s annoying especially when songs are on shuffle, you’ll end up relistening to everything in the same order. Customer service is useless so don’t try to report anything to them, just go to a streaming service who is willing to a) respond and b) look into what you’ve told them about their site/app. Doesn’t matter which interface you use, they’re all flawed and they don’t care. They’ll even continue to take your money when you’ve discontinued service so be sure to delete your payment method when you’re done with them. Too pricey of a service to be this s****y. Go somewhere you’re valued and can get constantly decent service.

    Top tier streaming app
  • Slow

You know how it feels like watching a five minute movie sequence in slow motion? That’s exactly how it feels navigating this app. The response time for music to play is ridiculous. Spotify is better.

How does one brag about all the money they have, then setup a strange document signing complaining about how no artists have money? What were they signing anyway? The problem is the labels not the streaming services. I'll start this review by saying I am an audio geek... that being said I used Rdio for about three years and switched to Spotify most recently for about the last 11 months. Tital's sound quality is great but the fact that they sold to JayZ destroyed its credibility at least to me. You see people it's like Beats by Dre... All marketing no substance. It's designed to benefit him and he's just using other "celebrities" to "sell" you a very mediocre product... But people fall for the marketing gimmick over and over, that's why companies use celebrities because it works. MQA works but now that Qobuz is in the US, it’s 24 bit and requires no unfolding...
  • Block/mute artist feature isn’t working

The most recent update says that we now have the option of blocking artists and songs. After updating, I still don’t see a way to do that.

Would be nice if multiple devices could run on the same log in, instead of kicking the other out.i mean Apple Music let’s you do it
  • Lack of features

I love the app and the quality of the music but it doesn’t even have an EQ or an Apple Watch App. I think this is gonna be my last month on tidal. Would be very convenient an Apple Watch app so I don’t have to keep my phone with me at the gym all the time

    Simply Awesome
  • Great for DJs

    By iesha irene
I became a Tidal member when Prince died and they were the only ones to have rights to his entire catalogue. I love that they continue to improve the product and I love how they create playlists based on your personal tastes. I also love the holiday playlists such as the one they have for Black History Month. What’s currently winning me over is the new collaboration they have with Serato for DJs. This new integration is GENIUS and has saved me on so many occasions when I need a song but don’t necessarily want to add it to my computer library. Thank you Hov!
  • Audiophile standard!

I love the service and I love how awesome the app is. I noticed that they started creating mixes based on the music you enjoy, which I appreciate. The quality of the music is bar none on any streaming service you can subscribe to. My only gripe, which is being solved slowly, is adding more ethnic/foreign music to the service (Kpop, jpop, salsa, bachata).
