  • Warning: Addictive Game Can Cause Fiscal Trouble!

As fun as this drag racing game is, and as challenging as it can be, especially in live racing, there is a very expensive aspect in upgrading the cars you keep. Tiers 1 and 2 are not too $$, but by Tiers 4 & 5, where the cars can easily exceed 200mph, it can cost the user a small fortune to upgrade each of them to peak potential. There are rare cars for sale that cost $15 -$20 + tax in non-refundable cash. You aren’t able to sell those at all, which I found out the hard way. Advice to noobs is to try any cars out which you’ve accumulated by using gold keys = at a minimum of $10 a pop -(gold and cash, used for upgrades and fuel, can cost you up to $100 each for the best “deals”) to see if they appeal in terms of baseline handling, sell any extra cars and associated parts you may win or purchase with real cash to accumulate game cash for upgrading each Tier level car you keep. Why? Because if you upgrade too many cars at each Tier, you may be able to sell them, but only at a fraction of the real cash you invested in them. The cars are different within each Tier and especially among them, so evaluating them prior to upgrading is the smarter way to have fun while conserving funds. Addictive personalities with tight budgets would be better off with an XBox plus a great racing game.

Only bad problem with this game is that you don’t get enough parts for the cars you actually use game earned money for. You get mostly parts for cars you can win eventually. Great game and lots of fun. Would love to see what you need to upgrade on your car after you lose a race.

It’s updated for iPhone X with some cleanup left to do. But very happy about that bc it was upsetting wasting the screen !

Game makes you basically pay to win, I have grinded through this game for months and you can’t play certain sections without spending a lot of money to just own the car little alone upgrade it. I’ve noticed a lot of people quit playing, several crews ive joined have just quit playing for these reasons. Make the game more enjoyable where we can actually play the game without spending money
  • I keep playing it!!

This game is phenomenal! It is one of the very few games I keep coming back to on iOS, and have actually (proudly) spent money on in-game purchases. Pros: - Graphics are gorgeous; from the car model details to the textures to the lens flares and paint finishes, I enjoy every time a car comes on the screen. - Gameplay is intuitive, balanced and engaging. The game takes a bit of work and grinding to progress, but not so much that I’m turned off. The story line is a little fun but not intrusive or corny. - Even though you’re just controlling the gas pedal (and nitrous), each cars feels different. I can definitely appreciate the tuning and care that was put into characterizing the player’s interaction with each car. - The Daily race (or whatever its called) is a cool and fun way to get exposure with all kinds and Tiers of cars – a great idea! - I really like the cash/gold/keys system and how certain cars can only be won, or purchased with either gold or cash. I like all the little spontaneous races, discounts and giveaways. - The number of cars in the collection is vast and they are all awesome! Especially the Tier 5 ones. That feeling of finally winning or purchasing a Lamborghini or Ferrari is so fulfilling! Cons – yes, there are some, though they are few. - Some of the (real money) prices are ridiculous. $20 for a unique Ferrari model? Come on. Keep things obtainable and cap prices at something reasonable, like $5. Otherwise, make ALL models in the game obtainable through gameplay progression. - Load times are just long enough for me to notice the loading screen. It’s not as bad as playing Skyrim on an old PC, but even on the iPhone X it feels… noticeable. - I’ve noticed the engine noises are pretty limited to like 3 or 4 audio tracks. I highly doubt my Toyota 86 sounds the same as a Mercedes CLA 45 AMG 😜 - Since the car collection is so huge, the odds of getting just the right Stage 6 parts to beat the final ladder or main plot races is super low. Maybe tweak the probabilities a bit to more frequently match cars the player actually owns? - The team/clan thing (especially the chat function) is a bit clumsy and I’m still not sure how it all works, aside from the team races that everyone contributes towards. No idea what wildcards or much else on the Team screen does. - Some minor bugs throughout: rearranging cars in your garage doesn’t work quite right; the left/right swiping between car upgrades and paint types is jittery and could be smoother; one of the daily discounted cars from Donna had a different car depicted on the icon (a Challenger I think) but the car being sold was like a Fiesta RS; needless to say I was disappointed. Suggestions: - Maybe add one or two new racing backgrounds/environments just to add variety. I mean, after one or two hundred races in tiers 1-4, racing the same street does get a bit tired. Same thing with weather – the rain is always cool to watch, but maybe add snow or fog or a storm or something new! - Cap real money purchases, especially for individual cars. I’d love to participate in the stock specials, esp the Ferrari anniversary one, but $20 for one car?? Too steep. - Maybe a decision tree or two in the game’s plot? Like the option to join a certain clan (or not) that might influence car or race options. Latest update: - Happy to see support for iPhone X screen!! - Ability to select any car from the correct Tier for a particular race is very welcome! - New cars – heck yeah! Overall, I’d give this game 9/10, rounding up for 5/5 : ) Extremely pleased!
