Endless Reader: School Ed. App Details

** App Store's Editor's Choice ** ** Children's Technology Review Editor's Choice ** IMPORTANT: THIS IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME APP AS ENDLESS READER, BUT SPECIFICALLY FOR SCHOOLS USING THE VOLUME PURCHASE PROGRAM OR THOSE THAT CANNOT MAKE IN-APP PURCHASES. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP IF YOU'VE ALREADY PURCHASED WORD PACKS IN ENDLESS READER. *From ORIGINATOR - the creators of the beloved Endless Alphabet, Endless Numbers, and Sesame Street's Monster at the End of This Book and Another Monster.... Originator is a team of passionate artists and engineers dedicated to the best education+entertainment apps for kids.* As a follow-up to Endless Alphabet, set the stage for early reading success with Endless Reader! This app introduces "sight words", the most commonly used words in school, library, and children's books. Kids need to recognize these words by sight in order to achieve reading fluency. Recognizing sight words is advantageous for beginning readers because many of these words have unusual spelling, cannot be sounded out using phonics knowledge, and often cannot be represented using pictures. Kids will have a blast learning sight words and their context and usage with the adorable Endless monsters. Each word features an interactive word puzzle with letters that come alive, and then a sentence puzzle with words that become what they describe. See the word "dog" as a barking dog, and the word "up" reach for the sky! ** NOTE: You must be online and have sufficient disk space while running the app to get all words in the app. ** Features: - 341 sight words to learn and play with. - Delightful animations reinforce sight recognition of words in a fun and interactive way. - Word puzzles reinforce spelling using lower-case letters and the sentence puzzles teach definition and usage (in addition to sight recognition). - Endless Reader was designed with children in mind. There are no high scores, failures, limits or stress, and children can interact with the app at their own pace. - SPECIAL FEATURES FOR TEACHERS: Settings to require spelling words in sequential letter order and to turn off background music.

  • Horrible, Paid for Purchase and Now Showing Nothing

My kids loved the app when I first purchased it, now can't restore and only showing the first few words on both my iPhone and iPad. Don't buy.

Purchased this app in the school bundle. Within a few minutes of play my daughter (3) is going around trying to sound out words she sees around the house. Very cool!

I have downloaded a ton of apps looking for something that will teach my kids and let them have fun too. Other apps drive me crazy with all in app purchases which makes my kids confused when trying to play. My 2 year old child is able to keep up with my 4 year old currently in a private school. I highly recommend all 3 games. I would not take the time out to write a review if the app was not worth it. I hope my review will help other moms out. Good Luck

We love the app. Our almost two year old loves playing the app too. Thank you for a wonderful tool to help make learning fun.
  • Toddlers love it

I have two toddlers and they are both learning quick and they both love it. In the free app you will be nickeled and dimed for every level and "pack" of words, but this is a pay once and get everything, including updates. I got the bundle and our kids love the numbers as well. For me it was worth every penny.

My child is learning word and sentence through playing this app for a month! She enjoys it a lot!
