SketchUp Viewer App Details

SketchUp Viewer brings 3D models to life on your iPad or iPhone allowing you to open and view SketchUp models any time, anywhere, on the device you want to view them on. Version 3.1 now includes options for defining unit preferences, the Position Camera Tool, an improved Tape Measure tool and much more! Explore and share 3D models: • Download models to your device from your 3D Warehouse, Trimble Connect or Dropbox account for seamless offline viewing • Transfer your SketchUp models directly to the app via iTunes, open SketchUp models directly from email attachments, or open files from other cloud service apps like Google Drive. • Navigation features include multi-touch gestures for Orbit, Position Camera, Look Around, Pan, Zoom, and Zoom Extents, as well as a Camera menu with options for toggling between Perspective and Orthographic camera modes, and adjusting the Field of View. • Use the Scenes menu to select from any of the standard camera views (top, side, bottom, etc.) or access the custom Scenes that you created in SketchUp. The app supports the following scene properties: Camera location and properties, Hidden Geometry, Visible Layers, Active Section Planes, Standard Edge Styles, Face Styles, Background/Sky/Ground Style settings, Watermarks and Axes Location. • Use the Layers panel to toggle the contents of your SketchUp model layers on or off. • Use the View panel to choose from any of SketchUp’s Edge or Face styles and to toggle X-Ray mode on or off. The view menu also offers visibility toggles for Watermarks, Hidden Geometry, Section Planes, Section Cuts and Axes. • Use the Tape Measure tool to quickly measure objects in your SketchUp model. • Files Don’t Open Properly

    By AdmanOK
My files view just fine using the SketchUp web application on my desktops, but when opening on the iPad using the app many of the files do not display correctly. I thought maybe it didn’t download correctly, so I deleted it from the device and tried downloading again, but it still gives the same result. Not happy after having just spent $10 to purchase an app that doesn’t work.
  • Crashes every time with large files

    By Technoweenie
I am unable to open the SketchUp file containing the model of the home I’m building. It would have been useful to show the subs elements of the build. $10 wasted. Back to sketching ideas with pencil and paper on the job site.
  • Finally

Finally found this app to view in 3D all my models and projects on my IPad. Haven't had any issues yet and it works great!
  • Great app to view models on the go.

    By AuroraAlphaDragon
I love using SketchUp on the desktop to create my architectural models. This allows me to view those models when I’m on the go and to show it to my friends and family. However, the one thing I don’t like is that the app is not yet optimized for the new iPhone X. Currently the app is shrunken down to fit inside the new display so there’s black bars on the sides when in landscape. I would love for the app to be updated to take advantage of the new display on the iPhone X.
  • Great Viewer

Works perfect for what it is supposed to do.
  • Great reference

A bit expensive compared to what we are used to on the store but worth it.
  • Super bad

You can not edit just download other peoples designs and it crashes envy minute on iPad Pro
  • Very useful when offsite, stable

    By sternutator
Ever since the viewer added the Tape Measure tool a couple of versions back, it has been very useful to me for home remodeling and especially when out shopping or planning. Direct access to files stored in iCloud would be nice to have, as I keep most of my remodeling files there for the very reason of having them available offsite in a pinch. My current workaround, which is really not much of a detour at all, is to navigate to my SketchUp model within the iOS Files app and then use the Share extension from the present viewer to Copy to SketchUp. Keep up the good work and rich interfacing!
  • Fine for hobbies

This app cannot handle professional size architectural models. Will crash immediately.
  • Very, very nice apps

My architect sent me the access and I enjoy to see my future house , and also to show it to my wife, she is not so familiar with 2D drawing, but with 3D she understand it.
