Natural Cycles - Birth Control App Details

Introducing digital birth control. A natural method of birth control that uses a smart algorithm to learn your cycle and identify your ovulation by analyzing your basal body temperature. Natural Cycles is for women over the age of 18. Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Natural Cycles is only available as a method of birth control in the USA and Europe. In countries outside the USA and Europe, Natural Cycles is intended to be used as a fertility tracker. Natural Cycles is 93% effective under typical use, which means that 7 women out of 100 get pregnant during 1 year of use.* No method of contraception is 100% effective, even when using the app perfectly you can still have an unintended pregnancy. Natural Cycles shows you: ○ How your unique cycle works ○ Daily updates on where you are in your cycle ○ When you are in the fertile phase of your cycle and need to use protection (e.g. condoms) ○ When your ovulation is detected and predicted ○ When your period is coming up and when you can expect PMS ○ The science behind your menstrual cycle Natural Cycles is: ○ The first digital method of birth control available in both the USA and Europe ○ Backed by scientific research ○ CE marked & FDA cleared Pricing Plans: Yearly plan: 79.99 USD/year. Free thermometer included. Monthly plan: 9.99 USD/ month. Thermometer not included. Free trial: 30 day free trial. Thermometer not included. To use the app you need a two-decimal basal thermometer. Precautions: ○ As a contraceptive, Natural Cycles may be less suitable for you if you have irregular menstrual cycles (i.e. cycles shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days) and/or fluctuating temperatures as predicting fertility is more difficult in these circumstances. Natural Cycles’ effectiveness as a contraceptive is not affected by irregular cycles, but you will experience an increased number of red days, which can reduce your satisfaction with Natural Cycles. ○ Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Use a condom to protect against STIs. Want to learn more about Natural Cycles? App Reviews

  • HONEST REVIEW - Knowledge is Power

    By Makela P.
This app has really helped me gain knowledge in my cycle and I couldn't be more grateful. 3 months ago I broke-up with birth control and Natural Cycles has made this transition so much easier. One thing I wish it also tracked was symptoms throughout your cycle. There is a notes section but would be nice to have a simpler way to track.
  • 40 and Pregnant

    By Nickerbokor
I’m 40 and me and I my husband were worried it wasn’t going to happen for us but 6 months of natural cycles and 6 weeks pregnant. Really told me when I was ovulating so o didn’t miss any magic days.
  • Great option

    By lenna225
I love the fact that this product tracks your periods, prevents or helps plan pregnancy all in one!
  • Frustrated

    By Dontchargemewithoutconsent
I downloaded this app on a free trial and it charged me $23.00. I tried deleting the app immediately and it still charged me. I am not happy.
  • Missing some features to use exclusively

    By aprilnicole97
Overall ok app, but I would use this app exclusively and continue to pay for it if it included some additional features. Took advantage of the 3 mos for $24.99 to get a free basal thermometer and play with the app, but will cancel after that. Why is there no ability to track cervical fluid? Whether you are trying to conceive or avoid it, that is an important factor in recognizing your fertile window, much much more so than BMT alone. Other free apps allow for this tracking.
  • Science Wins

    By WasatchFront
My husband highly favors science based methodology. While he was apprehensive at first in trying this method of birth control, it was helpful to dive into research, hear about Natural Cycles on NPR, and medical journals. That’s great because there is no way I am using an copper IUD again or putting hormones into my body. It is different than putting info into my iPhone calendar or picking a free app. What a great mission the Natural Cycles couple is accomplishing.
  • Modern take on old school birth control!

    By Lucky7DogRescue
At the beginning of last year, I was listening to a Podcast where the women were talking about different birth control methods. One woman mentioned that she uses a calendar- the old fashioned way! I have been on birth control for 7 years without taking a break. In September, I was married and after talking to some friends about Natural Cycles they purchased it for me as a wedding gift! I eased my way into things and wanted to just practice taking my temperature every morning before I did anything else. And it was so simple! Every night before bed, I place my thermometer on top of my phone and I haven’t missed a day! This will be my first month off “the pill” and I am so excited to use Natural Cycles for real. The app is so user friendly and informative. I really feel like I’m taking control of my body and love being able to understand my biology more. Thank you Natural Cycles for revamping “the old fashioned way” and advocating for women to learn more about their cycle.
  • Great for pregnancy or avoiding pregnancy

    By 2=1+2
Decided to go off contraception with the hope of having another baby. Literally had sex once, looked at the app after and figured I would be pregnant. Test was positive and we now have twins(not that I can credit the app for that) but was able to be aware and detect pregnancy way sooner than I would’ve had we not been tracking. Now we are back to using it to avoid having another and I still love it. Great that it’s now approved as a form of birth control as well. Just wish my insurance would pay for it!
  • Completely helpful

    By Bettybyrd
This app has completely changed my view on my cycle. Now I am able to track the ups and downs in my cycle and gaining insight on where my body is in the month. I love that it’s able to pinpoint ovulation and gives a guide on your fertility. I was on birth control for 12+ years, which at the end of that time had my body turning against itself in an autoimmune situation. This app has helped in regulating my cycle in a healthier way.
  • Natural cycles is great!

    By Bbgsnud
I really like natural cycles and would undoubtedly recommend it to anyone who wants to try natural, non hormonal birth control. I’m so thankful for discovering it!! The only critique I have is I wish the thermometer they provide 1. Lit up so I could see it in the dark and 2. Didn’t beep 10 times when it was done.
