App Reviews

  • Stellar! Great features and Watch Compl.

    By crasshipster
OOPS. UPDATE. I like my other app better after all because it has live links for everything I need to do from the app like place phone calls, send e-mail, etc. I don't have to open a different app to get things done. All the info is in the app when I set up the Task or Event. Original review: I have 1000s of apps and I beta test several. This app is so useful and user friendly! I had a heavy favorite, paid upgrade, calendar/task app but I've switched over to Fantastical 2. Most important in this choice is a large Watch Complication that shows BOTH the next Event or Task, almost all others only show events - useless. Easy to use Watch app. Beyond the many powerful features, I love that the phone interface has a full month view with dynamic corresponding details listed below - one view without the other isn't useful. Great navigation. Once you learn the super simple way to enter details with creating an Event it's a blast! No need to mess with settings, just write in Event, date, etc, in a sentence and it's done. Watch the brief video here in the App desc. AWESOME It's great to be able to choose which apps I want the map links and browser links to open with. All the browsers on my phone are available. Wow! Big plus, don't have to use Apple maps. (Hate Apple Maps and had deleted it but many apps can only use Apple Maps). Fantastical 2 is extremely well designed and maintained. Great (fast) sync with the Watch Compl. and in general with all other tasks, reminders, and calendars I have. Powerful and stable. Reliable. And just cool to use. Creating Reminders from e-mail would be handy. My other app is cross platform - Android etc. but no Mac OS. But those are not deal or star rate breakers. Got the iPad app. A very rare purchase for me to pay separately for iOS. I want to support great work. I can't afford the Mac OS app. I'm confident it's excellent too. Thanks for a great app!!
  • GMT?

    By Snowwhiteblackbird
    1. I live in EST. It keeps randomly switching to GMT. SERIOUSLY??? I didn’t notice and it screwed up my whole day. Thanks. 2. Contacted support. Got no help. Thanks again. 3. The “helpful” block out a full day and it marks it as “free” is stupid. I got booked for an appointment in NY for when I was in Paris. I’m an adult and I know my intentions. If I block a day, I mean it to be blocked. So much thanks. 4. I have to pay extra to get it on my MacBook. Really? 5. The alerts don’t work. So. There’s that. Sigh.
  • Best in managing multiple calendars!

    By drlato
So picture calendar, home calendar, calendar with a group of friends, google calendar and even a medical calendar interface. Fantastical is AWESOME, combines all of them in one spot, color coded and organized. It is THE calendar I look at first thing in the day. AND syncs with my watch. I’ve been waiting for a calendar like this for years! THANKS!
  • Lack of views creates a cluttered mess

    By falseAdvertising333
There are a very limited set of ways to look at your schedule, which makes for a cluttered screen that doesn’t effectively show conflicts and open schedules. There is no calendar day view, just a list. You can only view the week sideways. You would expect the ability to see the daily calendar with a sidebar of tasks, but you can’t. You would expect to be able to filter events from the list to clean up the view, but that is problematic. The app just isn’t practical for day to day use when you have a busy schedule.
  • Must buy separate app for iPad

    By Lewie66
I just got this app and haven’t played with it much. Thought I would put it on my iPad so it would be larger, but then found out you had to pay an additional $9.99 for the iPad. I guess I should of checked it out better before purchasing it. Live and learn. I will post an update after I use it and let you know if it is worth another ten bucks to put on the iPad.
  • Give me back my money!

  • Essential

This is one of my favorite iOS apps. Essential kit for daily use, and worth every penny.
  • Fantastic App but Watch needs work

    By Bengaroo
I love this app and the today widget is awesome. However, on the Apple Watch, the complication does not cooperate with what I want it to show. UPDATE: I have solved my issue with the Apple Watch complication. Great app.
  • Love the look hate the ticker

    By Vf13
I love the functionality and the way you input dates and reminder but I just can’t get use to the ticker I wish there was a way to remove it and only have a list view of your calendar
  • I don’t get it?

    By cara lynne
I don’t really get the rave reviews - it’s a regular calendar app and it’s missing a lot of features. If you have more than a couple of events/reminders, you’re stuck with an endlessly long list of events and dots on a calendar. No time blocks to see how long or anything, just a list. You can turn your phone to the side, but you only see a couple hours at a time which is also useless. I love Fantastical on my iMac & Macbook Pro, but on the iPhone it’s middling at best. A huge use I have for a calendar on my phone is to coordinate schedules in person when a client asks what time I have free. Using this app, I have to tap every single date to see if those dots are meetings or reminders or a birthday or whatever. Using any other app that doesn’t have dots on the month view, it takes two seconds to let them know. I don’t get what this app does that Apple’s built in app doesn’t.
