  • Use it everyday and don

    By miller4980
I take care of a lot of remote computer installations. I don't like third party apps mainly because of security and trust. I don't really like vnc due to the setup, I use ssh for some machines and for windows, I use RDP Microsoft Remote Desktop. Any time I got bumped from a connection it was due to improper framing or damage to the data that kept the link alive. If it was a problem with my network, I fixed it (Usually encryption related issues with the tunnel ) and RD would work flawlessly again. Works incredibly well with OSX
  • Auto Scaling

    By MildMediumSpicy
Needs auto scaling support when switching between the MBP screen and an external monitor. I have to re-open the connection to fit according to the new display size every time.
  • Works (barely)

    By RobG42
Typical Microsoft quality. It won’t “quit” without being Force Quit. This is even on a Mac with a 100% fresh MacOS installation. Other that that, it works. Could use more customization, and “folders” for organizing RDP sessions when you have several dozen of them like I do. It’d also be nice if the Mac “command” key could be mapped to the windows “Control” key so it stops acting like a Windows key.
  • Can’t connect without warning

    By Spotticus63
There is no option to ignore the Security Certificate Warning in the preferences (this was in option in much older versions). So everytime I log into my work computer I have to bypass this warning. Very bothersome. Please add that feature back to allow connection without the security certificate warning.
  • Does not load

I used this for two years and now after the most recent update, it does not work on my mac!!

  • Crashes sometimes but okay

    By Grimmgreen
Not sure why there are two of these apps in the App Store. I prefer this one since the other only lets you connect to one at a time. It works okay but it does crash occasionally (when you aren’t connected to any machines but have the app open) and you have to force quit. Either this needs an update to fix it or the other one needs to allow for multiple connections.
  • Good enough for daily use

    By NewAgeTradition
I’m using the MsRD8 App on a daily base. A new version has been released as a different app which allows you to migrate all your connections. The old one, this one still works just fine.
  • I love the lack of documentation

    By PhillipJ.Fry
I thought I was going to have an easy tie using this software, and wasn’t looking forward to no challenge. Luckily, there’s no documentation, and the only help offered online is out of date and factually wrong a out the options you’re given. I’ll be working on this for a while! Hooray! A challenge!
