  • I love/hate this game

Update:1 game keeps crashing and stealing power ups, coins, progress etc... somehow it remembers the coins you used and they’re just gone but won’t remember what your scores were and caused you to lose tournaments and level progress. Come on EA get it together. Pros: The game has a great design and is lots of fun to play. Cons: it quickly becomes annoying when their obvious greed has you paying for every aspect of the game just to be competitive. You may win a couple of tournaments but it won’t last without spending actual money to win. You have to gain “coins” to use the power ups and finishers and once you reach past about level 25 the only finisher worth using takes 80,000 coins and the only power ups able to gain the scores you need to compete at all are 7000-10,000 more coins. You gain about 600-1000 coins with each single player game you play. Occasionally the game will let you watch a 30 second advertisement for one of the developer’s other games and will double your coin haul. You can also win “daily challenges”. The first one is always easy but if you win a couple or maybe all 3 challenges a couple of days in a row the next ones will be almost impossible if not completely impossible to beat. You’re dependent on the computer to drop the power ups you need to win and it will intentionally withhold them or the frenzy mode will run your time out so you can’t win the coins and again try to force you to spend actual real money just to play. I’m at level 85 and at the point where if I don’t spend actual real money on this game I can’t be competitive. I refuse to spend real money on a game just to be able to out score some random person, who may or may not even be real, with nothing in return. The game is lots of fun but the greed of the developers has frustrated me to the point I’m gonna delete the game and go on to something else.

  • Joke of a game

This game is designed to pretty much just steal from your pocket. Built purely to push ads and paid upgrades the humble Tetris has been commercialized to the extreme. Every game that lasts 2 minutes tries to charge you $2.49 to use an ending streak. Watch out, there are much better games out there to download instead of this.

  • Horrible

Basically sucking you dry this app was created only to fatten the creators pockets not for our entertainment, glitches are a major issue smh i completed all the daily challenges in order to complete the task it’s only showing that I completed two. The game randomly holds you up so you loose time and shuts down.

Guys, I want to like this app, I really do. I’ve been a Tetris fan since its inception and there are some interesting things in this app. But I can’t get past the bad code. This thing crashes constantly. Lately, at the very end of a game, once you’ve spent coins on all the power ups and finishers, then the app crashes and you don’t get your score for the game you just finished. Just had one (prompting this review) where I enabled all my power ups, started the game and it hung on the intro screen. As someone who’s been making games for 20 years, there are other telltale signs. The music and sounds instantly cut off when moving to state to state. Yuk. Talk about yank you out of your experience. It just feels clunky at times. Like the teams didn’t talk to each other when they built the thing. The game design is interesting but there’s SO MUCH in there. I want to enjoy it but sometimes the level of complexity gets in the way. And the ADS! Man, seriously! I get it. This is how you pay for that stuff but the level of bombardment here is kind of unprecedented. I’d expect it from some small studio but this is EA here. You’ve gotten tons of my money over the years. There comes a point when I need you to leave me alone to enjoy the product for a little while. All that said, as I’ve mentioned, there are some interesting twists on the old standard Tetris here and once you start to learn what’s what it can be okay to play for a few minutes a day. I keep going back and forth between finding some of the game features cool and getting frustrated enough that I want to delete the app.
