  • Use to be a great learning tool

My favorite app for learning new languages for a long time. Now they just want to make money. Advertising is no longer good enough for them. Sad!
  • Awesome!!!

This is a really fun app ! I know a little bit of Spanish picked it up here and there and this is pulling it all together , it’s cool to be waking around and point things out in Spanish, and can hold a conversation 😃
  • More

This app is ok though I can’t remove courses I don’t want to take from the app which is annoying, also there could be more languages added like Tagalog or the Hawaiian language. That would be great.
  • I type “Tu comes manzanas,” it tells me I need to answer in Spanish!

I mean seriously? I the report this button, but can’t advance without having the same question come up. I really don’t understand how this app got so highly rated with such a fundamental flaw! Terrible app, good thing it’s free.

I’ve tried many other apps, but to get past the first stage you had to pay! I just want to learn German and diolingo let me do that for free! It’s surprisingly fun too! I really love this app 😀
  • Used to be great, still okay

    By CD Cain
I used to love, love, love this app. I probably only missed a few nights in nearly two years of nightly review. While it is still okay, it is not as great as it once was...
  • Not as good as last year!

    By eileenra
Too many levels of the same basic category and too many ads! Not as enjoyable as last year and far more annoying. Also, after about the 3rd or 4th level, my app goes mute. So aggravating!
  • It’s part of my routine

    By EM-LPSO
I’m learning four languages. Each language is structured and, I’m assuming, created by its own team. So, some of the language programs are more sophisticated or offer more features. For instance, Spanish and Italian let you speak the words, but some of the others don’t have that option. To be clear—you aren’t going to become fluent with Duolingo, but you will definitely have a feel for the language
  • Nice app but used to be better.

Duolingo used to be my favorite app and recommended it to everyone I know. Now, not so much. I still like it and use it but less frequently. There used to be no ads, which was awesome, but I totally understand that they would eventually include ads, which is reasonable since it’s a free app. But my issue with it’s current version is the fact that when you make a certain number of errors when practicing the language tests, it stops and requires you to either buy “health credits” - AKA pay $ or stop using the app until another day. I’m not sure what clever person came up with this idea, but, kicking users off for a day if they choose not to pay definitely doesn’t encourage users to use this app. And considering that you are required to view plenty of ads while using this app anyway, it seems a bit greedy. Anyway, I’m hoping that the folks at Duolingo reconsider this strategy. In the meantime, I’m on the lookout for a better language app.
