The app kills me that for the free version you have health and run out losing your streak that you’ve racked up I like the online version because you can actually learn stuff without having health I get you guys have to make money but at least add some more adds and remove the health system on the app

So this app seems like a good app to learn language but what is stupid is that you need to get some forking premium thing just so you can learn and not have to worry about failing that is where this app gets me is that you have to wait some 5 hours just to get health back which is what I don’t get why should you have to pay or wait to learn a language why can’t it be free why should you have to pay some 10 dollars a month just to learn a language I don’t know what was going through their heads when they made that I am just trying to learn a language but I have to pay $10 a month to learn it this is what I hate about apps like these

  • Doesn’t work

Just switched from android to iPhone and now you have to have lives AND the most frustrating is it asks you to choose an answer to fill in the blank, but it doesn’t ask you in english or Spanish which word to choose. So when you choose boy, they say the answer was girl and vice verse; now I can’t get past that round because I lose my lives. Soooo disappointed in the app now.
  • Was a good app but never worked

I studied Spanish six years ago so I’m familiar with the language, something that I don’t like on the app it was that you can only skip the first level but then you had to do each individual lesson from that point. On the computer you were able to skip levels up to five or six which helped once I started remembering everything I learned. I had a good 20-ish day streak going on with trying to get 30 and the app stopped working when I would open it it would crash and say we’ve encountered a problem try signing out. So I would sign out and sign back in and it wouldn’t let me do anything with any of my languages. But without fail it would notify me don’t forget to learn your language for today but the app would never work. I also was getting notifications for each of the languages I had tried to learn years prior and found no way to remove them from the list. I was getting 20 or more notifications every day for all the different languages I had previously tried to learn just because I was trying to brush up on Spanish.
  • “Health”

I used to have this app about a year ago and it was just fine, it was free and helped me stay a little advanced before French class; I downloaded it again because I wanted to learn more French and my mind immediately started to think of Duolingo, everything was like I remembered except this new “health thing”. It doesn’t help people learn; you need to purchase duolingo plus or purchase gems to buy health and get back to learning. It’s sad that the creators had to do this; not everyone can afford to buy duolingo plus and buy health; money hungry much? :( I hope they take this off; now I have to wait for 5 hours to get back my “health”

Easy to stick with and fun to learn. I have made good progress over the past three years by continuing to use Duolingo to learn Spanish.
