Storm Shield App Details

Named by's @Techland as one of the best weather apps for your iPhone and Apple Watch. Severe weather alerts for your exact location. Storm Shield gives you storm-based alerts for tornado, hurricane, flood, thunderstorm, winter storms and other life-threatening weather events via voice and push notification. Storm-based alerts help reduce false alarms by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. County-based alerts can result in false alarms, warning you when your location in the county is not within the threatened area. What people are saying: • Storm Shield "alerted our family of the Broken Arrow, OK tornado, faster than the TV and tornado sirens." - Robyn • "I was in Oklahoma City during the tornado... we were right in its path. Your app literally was a life saver." - dcalk12 Benefits: • Get voice alerts just like a NOAA weather radio via push notification anywhere in the United States. • With Apple Watch, get a tap on your wrist when alerts are issued for your locations. • Add Storm Shield's widget to your Today screen to get quick access to active alerts for the first location in your app. • Touch Storm Shield's app icon on your 3D-Touch enabled iPhone for quick widget access. • Hi-Def radar map is your home screen so you can quickly see what's going on at your locations. • Long-tap on the map to get current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts. • Save additional locations to ensure family members stay safe. • Closings for Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Lansing, Milwaukee, Nashville, Omaha, Tulsa. After the storm would be the time to make a review of how accurate the forecast was , not before the storm.

I’ve had iPhones for a long time. For a brief period a few years ago, I switched to an android. That’s when I first started using Storm Shield. It worked great. When I switched back to iPhone, it hardly works at all. Can you PLEASE fix the app for iOS?
  • Accurate!

    By Aspennnnnn14
I always check this app to see what the weather is going to do. They are always accurate with there forecasts and I like getting the alerts about the weather.
  • Alert Fatigue

    By Commentbox
There are way too many alerts to be useful. A dusting of snow is not an emergency. It’s just winter. I wish I could use your app to keep my family safe during actual emergencies, but with alerts being issued every day for low priority events, it fails to be useful.
  • Great service for potential weather emergencies.

We can’t hear the severe weather sirens where we live so this app is great for that, especially living in the Midwest. For non life threatening weather systems—like the severe fog alert two weeks ago—I’d prefer not to be woken up at 3 am. It’s not “the killer fog” creeping in, I don’t think.
  • Not accurate

    By Locknload7
I’ve used the app for many years. It’s funky but it had good info. This weekend every one of my saved Colorado locations is 10-20 degrees wrong. I have to bounce between other apps to verify the temperature. At this point even if the info is correct I can’t trust it. I plan my travels based on the data. The time has come. I must find another.
  • Top notch

A great app! On top of alerts and the verbal notifications are great!
  • Perfect alert system

This is wonderful for updates and notifications about storms or severe weather.
  • I paid for this app. Then they changed it to a subscription on top.

    By Podcast gigalow
The app was paid for. Then they changed the app in an update that requires a subscription for features I already paid for in the original purchase. Shame on you for stealing from people. Unbridled greed isn’t becoming -or in this case even legal.
  • Waste of money

    By Grandma Lollipop
I initially paid for this app and then they want more money. I’m sorry I wasted my money. It’s easier to check your local online TV weather’s radar. The app was best when it first came out. There should not be an upgrade charge for future weather because obviously when you’re looking at a weather app you want the future weather otherwise you would just look out the window. And I don’t need a verbose response to this ...what you should do is refund our money since now the basic app is free.
