Storm Shield App Details

Named by Time.com's @Techland as one of the best weather apps for your iPhone and Apple Watch. Severe weather alerts for your exact location. Storm Shield gives you storm-based alerts for tornado, hurricane, flood, thunderstorm, winter storms and other life-threatening weather events via voice and push notification. Storm-based alerts help reduce false alarms by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. County-based alerts can result in false alarms, warning you when your location in the county is not within the threatened area. What people are saying: • Storm Shield "alerted our family of the Broken Arrow, OK tornado, faster than the TV and tornado sirens." - Robyn • "I was in Oklahoma City during the tornado... we were right in its path. Your app literally was a life saver." - dcalk12 Benefits: • Get voice alerts just like a NOAA weather radio via push notification anywhere in the United States. • With Apple Watch, get a tap on your wrist when alerts are issued for your locations. • Add Storm Shield's widget to your Today screen to get quick access to active alerts for the first location in your app. • Touch Storm Shield's app icon on your 3D-Touch enabled iPhone for quick widget access. • Hi-Def radar map is your home screen so you can quickly see what's going on at your locations. • Long-tap on the map to get current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts. • Save additional locations to ensure family members stay safe. • Closings for Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Lansing, Milwaukee, Nashville, Omaha, Tulsa. Ever since the app was changed the information is no longer accurate and the new design layout of the app makes it Very hard to read

I've had this app for more than a year. It's pretty good in that it loads and shows the weather faster than others. This last update was not good. Now it doesn't remember you transparency setting you prefer -- always going back to default. I wish I didn't update it now. Update... transparency now remembered with recent update. BUT, the latest update now causes the app not to show any weather. You have to close the app then open it again. This is on iPhones and iPads.
  • Premium Features are not worth it

My biggest problem with this app is that many premium features such as lightning alerts and futurecast are absolve for free on the weather channel app. There's not really a point for me to have this app
  • Invaluable

This app has been invaluable to us during Florence. As evacuees, we can monitor the weather where we are as well as our home.

I needing to find a replacement for the defunct Weather Underground Storm app that give lighting alerts at 10 miles. This works great for that and has accurate forecasting data. Don’t mind paying because I would rather pay than have my data sold. Nice app hits all of the high points for me.

Storm shield makes it easy to monitor weather in six locations where family live as well as any location where I happen to be. While I use other websites, such as NOAA's National Hurricane Center, Storm Shield is usually the first place I look for weather information. Great app.
  • Why?

Why does the app not show hurricanes? For what we pay for the app it should show everything!
  • Room for improvements

I love the app it has so much potential but one thing it lacks for the Apple Watch is being able to view the radar on the Apple Watch itself if at all possible I was wondering if you developers would be up to the challenge of making it possible to view the radar and the weather forecast on the Apple Watch itself I have the series 3 Apple Watch ⌚️ and I would actually like to see this app being able to be put to good use on the Apple Watch but again that’s only a feature I would like added to the Apple Watch ⌚️ so again if any of you developers are up for a challenge being able to view the radar and view the weather forecast on it to I would definitely appreciate it because I would find that useful but here are my 5 stars
