Storm Shield App Details

Named by's @Techland as one of the best weather apps for your iPhone and Apple Watch. Severe weather alerts for your exact location. Storm Shield gives you storm-based alerts for tornado, hurricane, flood, thunderstorm, winter storms and other life-threatening weather events via voice and push notification. Storm-based alerts help reduce false alarms by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. County-based alerts can result in false alarms, warning you when your location in the county is not within the threatened area. What people are saying: • Storm Shield "alerted our family of the Broken Arrow, OK tornado, faster than the TV and tornado sirens." - Robyn • "I was in Oklahoma City during the tornado... we were right in its path. Your app literally was a life saver." - dcalk12 Benefits: • Get voice alerts just like a NOAA weather radio via push notification anywhere in the United States. • With Apple Watch, get a tap on your wrist when alerts are issued for your locations. • Add Storm Shield's widget to your Today screen to get quick access to active alerts for the first location in your app. • Touch Storm Shield's app icon on your 3D-Touch enabled iPhone for quick widget access. • Hi-Def radar map is your home screen so you can quickly see what's going on at your locations. • Long-tap on the map to get current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts. • Save additional locations to ensure family members stay safe. • Closings for Baltimore, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Lansing, Milwaukee, Nashville, Omaha, Tulsa. App Reviews

  • Why it’s a good app

    By jeffrey grey
It’s the best weather app, because it lets you know what is going on. Weather is the most important stuff because in a Instant a tornado can just form and you have no clue about it and then you die from it. so I like this weather app because it just let you know what’s going on, in like the weather system and all that. it’s just a helpful thing when traveling or just sitting at work and all of a sudden it goes off and tells you if there’s a tornado or like a severe thunderstorm watch or if nothings going on, just a very helpful app.
  • Not good at all

    By Msladykathryn
Don’t know where the counties are. I like the old way better I’m trying to find another app. I paid for this one a while ago. $2.00
  • Disappointed App

    By MichaelLafave
When I first got the app, Channel 7 action news Detroit said this was the app to have for all weather needs no matter where you are at. Then a couple changes occurred and now if you really want to be in the know about the weather in your immediate area, you need to pay for he service. Not worth it, I’ll change over to Weatherbug if the weather doesn’t look to good or I need to see a long term forecast.
  • The best

I use this app for work and we use this app when our scouts are camping and other out door actives any where we go.
  • You stole my money

    By Chirleski
I paid for this app a couple years ago and now it’s free. That means you stole my money because the app is now free. The app is worthless without a night forecast after pressing “details”.
  • Love the new features disappointed in future feature

    By Rdrose2499
So I bought this app when it first came out and over time it has gotten better and better. What I’m super disappointed in is that I can use the Weather Channel app for free to see a future forecast but I have to pay a subscription to do so with this app. Really?
  • Awesome...

After the “Storm app” has been discontinued and replaced with a unreliable, confusing alternative I decided some weeks ago to go with Storm Shield. Living in Puerto Rico we just went through a strong Tropical Storm and thanks to this app I was able stay informed about track, thunderstorms, marine advisory etc. at all times. The available options in this app are outstanding and can be easily activated. App tops all other weather/storm apps I have tried and this will be here to stay and becomes my favorite to go through the current Hurricane Season. Thanks to the developer.
  • Great app

Very good satellite. The best one I’ve found in Arizona yet
  • No alerts

    By Angeleyez187
Paid for the app a while back and it was decent- not as loud like I would have liked (hoped to replace weather radio with this) but over the past 6 months, the app has just decided to stop sending me alerts altogether and no, I’ve changed nothing on settings and yes, I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling. My husband will get double alerts sometimes while I get zero.
  • Double voice weather alerts

    By Dee Comcast
I’m giving this app 3 stars due to the face the weather alerts comes out double and causes the voice alerts to double and overlay the voice about a Milli second off Update changing review to 5 stars I email customer support and they were able to get it fixed the problem was the saved and the tracked location were the same
