App Reviews

  • Less than zero. Worst app ever.

    By Wolfie10,000
The women are very nice, just very few of them. The app itself is difficult to navigate. The whole thing has a sense of decay. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
  • It’s ok app...

    By MissMussi
It’s not really best application, but it’s ok
  • Still waiting to see improvements

    By tired of the excuses
Every time you make changes to the site and app, instead of making the site better you make it worse. The site has now lost all its best features like chat rooms and message boards, accurate sorting by who is online or distance, and is full of more fake profiles, scammers, and dormant and closed profiles then it ever was before. In addition, there are still issues like when you send a flirt it will show up in the mail as the other person sent you a flirt or the same people showing up in your search results regardless of your search criteria. Also, if a paid member contacts a non paying member, the non paying member should have the ability to have unlimited communication with the originating paid member. Perhaps you should also note the person’s membership status and level on the profile. Most importantly, the ability to delete mail and messages instead of archiving them would be nice. Lastly, bring back phone based tech support until 11pm or midnight EST/EDT
  • Why one star...

    By rarely write reviews but...
Jdate is serially technologically incompetent. Their coders must be students in a “you can code too” seminar given at a suburban senior center. Then Jdate must instruct them that it’s a millennial world and debugging is so Gen X. Jdate may in fact be the most popular site of its kind, but if I were the only man on an island of 100 women, I’d probably have a date every night. It wouldn’t say much about me though. At any given time, something on the app doesn’t work. To their credit, they are quick to respond to an email (and potentially to wake the residents at the Center), but even when they do fix it, it will invariably be followed by a new failure right after. Worse yet, they must be losing members because their “online now” feature is filled primarily with people who were online recently, and their personalized suggested matches are filled with people who haven’t logged on for over a month. Interestingly, their response to this criticism isn’t to deny it. It’s to argue what the definition of “is” is. They defend their definition of “currently online” as being a relative thing or say that members with no recent logins are still potentially active. I’m in NYC with search criteria between 38 and 48 years old. This should be Jdate’s sweet spot. The good news is that, despite these chronic problems, they are committed to reliability in one critical module in their app— they are punctual in charging my credit card.
  • Jswipe is free and SO SO much better.

    By Rr676
Same members for past 10 years. No one is active on the site. Jswipe is cool
  • This is the worst site/app!

    By The worst app possible
Seriously? Who are u fooling? Clicking on “online” members shows people who visited 3 weeks ago. Specific age ranges and locations does return the proper queries. I am completely disgusted, no wonder so few people are on in. U need to revamp the whole thing!
  • New Interface Leaves Much to Be Desired

    By Professor Ace
Honestly speaking the new interface feels great, but it came at the cost of the integrity of the platform. Good luck with the new platform. So long and thanks for all the fish.
  • Total Waste

    By Saranadine
This app was a total waste of time and money. At first it seems like there are a lot of members, but many of them haven't logged on in months and you get the same matches over and over again. I kept getting messages from people who lived in a different state or country. I encountered more rude and flaky men on here than on any other app or dating site. It was a total waste of money and I will definitely let the membership expire after the pre-paid period.
  • Slim pickings!

    By mihakwa
My title says it all. I’ve emailed practically every guy with minimal results. There’s maybe one new person a month. DISAPPOINTING. I don’t frustrate easily and I’m a pretty awesome catch.
  • Wasn’t Just The App That Was Updated

    By JN10022
The site was, too. And, not for the better. You can no longer see if there was email traffic between u & another user in the past. All of your lists disappeared—Faves, Blocked, etc. And someone thought it’d be a good idea to take the Search option away. Instead, JDate gets to decide for you who should be in your dating pool. This alone is infantilizing and, for many, renders the site mostly pointless. I’ve been trying to figure out who thought “less” options for users to have, on a (fairly expensive) paid site, was a good idea.
