App Reviews

  • I love this app

    By dancingrock
I have been a PocketCasts user for many years. I love the UI and all of the stats the app tracks. The only request I have is offline apple watch support.
  • Love it but crashes sometimes

    By TylerCorp925
Overall, I love the app but it does crash a lot and I think it needs to be easier to add custom feeds to the app. The interface is great, has all the podcasts I listen to and syncs with my Echo, phone, and computer.
  • Garbage player after the update!

    By rich_garc
I've been really disappointed with this app. The layout was really great an intuitive when I first downloaded it, but the redesign a few months ago has left me frustrated. There's no filter to separate your downloaded episodes from the undownloaded in a particular feed, unless you archive all the episodes and then re-download specific episodes. Also, the app randomly crashes multiple times a day. The app developer changed their very popular app and doesn't seem to care that many are unhappy with it. It seems like I have to restart the app after every pause because it constantly freezes and will not respond. Do not download it!
  • Pauses playback randomnly

This app has done nothing but introduce bugs the last year. Pauses playback randomly even when the content is fully downloaded locally. Extremely frustrating.
  • Differences from 6.x to 7.3

It’s now a better tool for episode cherry-pickers. The ability to sort by Downloaded status brings the 5 you’ve pulled down from a list of 500 to the fore. It’s strange that you cannot now, by default, tell a downloaded episode from an undownloaded one, but there’s a setting to fix that. I also appreciate the new option to delay the deletion of a completed episode for 24 hours. Combined with a new End Of Episode setting for the sleep timer, this removes the stress of falling asleep to an episode you might run off the end of. For my uses, the only downside, and a minor one at that, is reduced information density in the episode list. You can’t see as many on a screen anymore, and the new, omnipresent Search field (rarely useful) takes up additional vertical space, making a very small knothole indeed when combined with the miniplayer and bottom toolbar. I’d suggest making Search show only when pulling from the very top of the list, as is a convention in many other apps, or just let me scroll it off the page as the episode list scrolls.
  • Force Reset

    By daltontini
Any audio from another app that interrupts Pockets Cast causes you to be unable to resume your podcast without forcefully resetting the app. Tapping the pause/play button does nothing, the app becomes unresponsive. The newest update did not fix this issue.
  • The Best

    By JacksonLesPaul
I have tried pretty much every podcast player available for iOS over the past couple of years and pocket casts remains the best. Managing current as well as old episodes is about as simple as it gets. The latest update took a bit of getting used to but the archive system is intuitive and works great.
  • Great update

    By theartwebreathe
I've enjoyed using Pocket Casts for a long time, but had some frustrations (usability related) with their last major update. However, the most recent update addressed almost all of those frustrations! Glad to see that they are listening to their users!
  • Used to be great

Now it doesn’t play the last few minutes of podcasts. I redownloaded the app and it still does it. It’s been a while but I actually paid for this app so this is disappointing, especially because it used to be so good. Now it cuts off just as the podcaster is ramping up to their final point and then you have to go find the episode in the archives if you want to hear the last 2-5 minutes.
  • Excellent best podcast app

I’ve tried almost every podcast app and I find this to be the most clean and intuitive.
