Disney World Lines (TP) App Details

LINES will help you save time and money during your Walt Disney World trip. We created Lines to help figure out where to go and what to do during your Disney vacation. No other app – even Disney’s official app – gives you as much unbiased advice about the Disney parks. LINES features include: - Advice on which parks to visit and avoid for next 10 days. - A CROWD CALENDAR showing you how busy each park will be over the next ten days. - Customized step-by-step TOURING PLANS for each Disney park. You tell Lines which rides you want to see, and Lines will display a step-by-step itinerary showing when to see them to avoid long lines. Lines can even update your plan while you’re walking around the park! It’s like having a GPS for Disney World. - When you’re in the park, Lines will display Disney’s currently posted wait time at every attraction and how long you’ll REALLY wait in line, based on our experience and that of thousands of families on the same ride. Only Lines gives you this “actual wait” estimate. - Disney’s official app doesn’t show you the waits for many attractions or character greetings. Lines has wait times for more rides, shows and character greetings than even Disney’s own app. - Only Lines will predict the wait times and FASTPASS times for the rest of the day. This is incredibly useful if you’re trying to plan your afternoon and evening, if you want to know whether FASTPASSes will be available at Splash Mountain after your nap, or if trying to decide which park to go to after dinner. - Complete schedules for each park, including opening and closing times, parades, fireworks, shows and character greetings. - Accurate MENUS and PRICES for every restaurant, kiosk, food stand and cart across all of WDW – more than 12,000 things to eat! Every menu is searchable – you can find every steak in Epcot or around Walt Disney World! - LINES will show you exactly which things in each restaurant and store count as a snack in the Disney Dining Plan. Our Disney trip planning tools have been featured in USA Today, the New York Times, FOX News and dozens of other newspapers, magazines, television and radio shows. Since 1986, we’ve helped more than 3 million families plan their Walt Disney World vacations. Note: Some LINES features, such as the crowd calendar and wait times, require an in-app subscription purchase to access. Other LINES features, such as customized touring plans, menus and chat forums, are completely free. Your in-app subscription includes 365 days of access to TouringPlans.com, the Web’s most popular subscription-based site for Disney trip planning.

  • Use itinerary only as a loose guideline

First timers at MK with kids aged 6-9 on Monday 2/18/2019 President’s day. Used the personalized plan and optimized several times throughout the day. Pros: 1. Crowd assessment was spot on. Rated 7 out of 10 which meant not yet NYC Times Square crowd levels and never had to wait in line for restrooms. 2. Helpful tool especially for newbies in gauging ride duration or walk times between areas of the park. 3. Liked the option of setting leisurely or fast walking pace for the algorithm. There were clearly families that were hell bent on getting in as many rides as possible and were speed walking throughout the park. We had small kids in tow which made our pace very different. 4. Liked the option of setting priority of shorter waits in line vs less walking. 5. Liked the ability to adjust and refresh the plan as the day passed; checking off some items, skipping others or adding something new. Once you’ve completed a ride and refreshed the plan, it will re-optimize itself. 6. Fast pass times can be entered and planned accordingly. This was a great way to gauge what could be reasonably done between the fast passes without being late. Cons: 1. Wait times and walk times were off for many of the rides. I don’t think the walk times were adjusted based on the crowd levels. To be fair to this app, the wait times were also very off from the official Disney app. Ex: 25 minute wait time was posted on this and the official Disney app for Magic carpet. Actual wait time was an hour!! Had I known we would have skipped this 2 minute ride. When we got to It’s a Small world, wait time was posted as 25 min on both apps but Disney staff were there to inform us the wait time clock was out of commission and actual wait time was an hour. There were other rides for which wait times were more accurate from the Disney app. So toggle between the two apps. 2. Could not post actual wait time which would have been helpful to adjust plan. Was only able to time the wait. This was mentioned in other reviews and most annoying since the wait times were not accurate. 3. I was not able to figure out how to share the plan with the rest of our group aside from taking screen shots. Since I had to continuously refresh the plan, this method was quickly abandoned to save battery life. 4. Cannot plan break times at specific locations. Only factors that in for dining reservations. 5. Itemized plan does not tell what area of the park each ride is located, ie Frontierland vs Tomorrow land. This would have obviated the need to break out the map or toggle between different areas of the app. Since we were newbies we had no idea which ride was where. 6. For the personalized plans, if you do not sElect many rides, there will be hours of “free time” during the busiest hours of the day. I thought it was a glitch, but customer service explained that I should just add additional rides to my wish list. Since you can’t prioritize rides (and have kids poop out before the best ones) I didn’t want to risk this and planned that portion by ear. Worked out fine in the end. Overall, glad I paid for this service for our first time at MK. Took a a lot of guesswork out of our way. Realize that the plan is not meant as a strict itinerary even though it seems so. Use it as a suggested guideline and be flexible with it. Would probably use it again for our second (if there ever will be a second) time as well. Once you are familiar with the park layout though and realize the busiest rides and times of day, the wait times available on the official Disney app is probably good enough to plan your day.

I couldn’t be happier with all of the information and tools Touring Plans provides. It just found me a hard to get dining reservation. Wait times are spot on and I love the park plans.

I did not know about it before we left for our trip. Only found it by looking over someone’s shoulder in line at Jungle Cruise. It allowed me to score fast passes after we used up our allotment to fill out our day.
  • Wouldn’t do Disney Without It!

It’s our third trip to Disney and I wouldn’t even consider going without using Touring Plans! We’ve been during very busy times and have never stood in line for more than 30 mins. Usually we’ve hit all the must-sees by early afternoon.

  • Always a Must

I’ve used this app to help plan 4 trips over the past 5 years! The first 2 trip for my husband and I with no kids, the 3rd trip was for our son’s 1st birthday, and the most resent trip was for the 3 of us and I was 8 months pregnant! All different trips with very different needs. I love the updates concerning the crowds and creating my own touring plans for each park. I also used the room request fax option this time and we got a room that was exactly what I wanted😊
  • Fantastic!

  • Ok, but needs some additions

For a first time Disney goer I thought this would be excellent. I was super frustrated outer first day out as a result of some lacking features. First, I need to know what area things are in, otherwise it’s next to impossible to find it on a map, especially with sometimes abbreviated names. Second, it would be helpful to have a walking directions interactive map so I know which way to walk to get to my destination, think mapquest style. Third, I’d really appreciate a map integrated to the app showing my destination. I know this was available pre trip on the website, but it’s more beneficial on the app. Also, don’t waste time printing the list before you go because it’ll change based on you’re stops and timing. I did find the timing mostly accurate, with the exception of something being closed.
  • Must have!

Absolutely must have! Did not have to wait for any rides and will never go to Disney without this app and plans again. Love the ability to make customized plans on what we want to ride and eat.
