If you need a document management solution that can support detailed notes, complex and varied documents, and a range of file types, look no further.

Great way to store and organize all sorts of files. I especially like the ability to drag an e-mail from Apple Mail into a folder (“group”) and then read the e-mail (fully formatted) inside of DEVONthink.
  • Expected More

I expected so much more from this application yet I ended up being disappointed. First is $15 which is perfectly fine but then there is an additional $8 charge for more functionality? Charging $15 and then asking for more at such a higher price turns users away, at least it turn me away. Second the application says that it can back up to iCloud which is awesome, except that it can’t sync it with the desktop version that can save to iCloud Drive. What’s the point if you can’t sync the desktop version with the mobile version? Was really looking to use this application as an alternate to Evernote and I guess am stuck with Evernote still.

Maybe it's just me, but the app icon is broken. It is now that default icon with circles and cross on white background. I tried rebooting my phone multiple times and it didn't fix the problem.
  • Great. Good. Works for me.

I can store and recall what I need. I can organize to my preference. I can sync with DevonThink Pro on desktop. This company really has a solid product and I haven’t seen anything to compare.

I use DEVONthink To Go all day every day for collecting all sorts of information. Everyday I am grabbing Twitter links/web pages and quickly throwing them into DEVONthink to access later. But it doesn't stop there, my entire PDF library lives within my DEVONthink databases and when I'm in a meeting I can quickly pull up DEVONthink To Go and have access to all of them. I use DEVONthink exclusively as my note and research tool, all day I am throwing more and more information into DEVONthink and it handles it all with ease. I cannot recommend this app enough!
  • Great companion to wonderful app but missing a few features

Good- - Almost no learning curve; Typical iPad app. - Beautiful Interface - A must buy if you want strong integration with Mac version - No Bugs/ crashes -PDF editor upgrade very useful unlike their desktop version (comparable to PDF Expert but not better) Needs Improvement- -Tags and labels should have better visibility and allow for labels -Background of PDFs should have options for less eye strain -PDF editing is a paid upgrade; instead should allow editing in PDF Expert or Files software. - No OCR; should be free for those who bought the pro office version on desktop. They can create a script that automatically OCRs new pics added from iPad in desktop version upon sync. - Limited Smart Folders. They should sync between machines or allow more options. Recommendation- Buy and review so that developers can keep upgrading.

By far, the best file managing system on the market. This is an incredibly powerful companion to the desktop office version and makes things versatile and effective on the go!
  • The best deal in doc management

It's not the prettiest app. It's not the app with the most features. It's not the best document editor. But for those looking to manage their documents anywhere, DT is now the best deal -- functionality by price, it beats Evernote and everyone else by miles. My only wish is that it handles syncing as well as Evernote. I found over the last year that I have to open the app periodically and wait for it to sync (that can take a while), regardless of which service I’m using. So sometimes when I need to find something quickly I open it up and search and there’s no results. So I have to use a different app for reliable background sync.
  • Hard to Configure, Hard to Search

I have Devonthink on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. I have to go to each device to find items I have saved. I bought a book on Devonthink but I don’t want to have to become an expert in Devonthink just manage information I clipped from the web. I have not found out how to sync all databases. Not sure how back up the information / Devonthink Databases
