App Reviews

  • I wish I could give zero stars

    By Bathsheba50
Horrible, slow, never loads completely, inconsistent performance, unexpected crashes, blank pages that never load, and involuntary closings, unreliable and frustrating. Once upon a time in the past, it was a pleasure to use, especially on the morning commute. Now, it is a never ending exercise in futility, disappointing every day. The app needs to be completely re-created to solve the issues. Patches and band-aid type fixes will not solve the problem of an app with this many problems.

  • Trib--Listen To Your Customers

    By FormerTribFan
I'm surprised that Trib has been so oblivious to unanimity of dissatisfaction. There are 175 reviews listed. BUT -- about 40-50 are reviews of the discontinued app, many from 2015, most of which are positive. The reviews of the NEW app include just one positive review (someone from Florida who was shocked he/she could actually get home news on the internet), and the remainder extremely negative. The consensus is pretty amazing. Not one customer happy about the disorganized newsfeed feel, the utter disorganization of articles and columns, the anonymous listing of articles -- (you don't know the author until you open the article), the inability to quickly locate favorite columnists, etc.. Trib, please, listen to your customers.
  • Greener than print, more reliable than FaceBook

    By Prof Scarecrow
I like getting my news from a true journalistic source, and I like to support my local paper. The old app I liked better but anticipate this will improve with time. The content delivery needs to stay the same and be fair and balanced, which the Tribune continues to deliver.
  • Bring back the old app!!

    By Trib reader since 1972
This app requires me to punch in a dozen keystrokes to download the paper! The old app did it with 2. What are you people thinking?
  • Not User Friendly

Why was it necessary remake this change? I'll give it a little more time. But I will cancel it's not revised for the better.
  • Horrible “Upgrade”

    By HurricaneExplosion
This new app is a disaster. The previous version allowed me to save the newspaper and read it later offline. This new version doesn’t allow me to do that. Even after opening the “enewspaper” version, I cannot read it offline because it continues to try refresh the newspaper. How about restoring the previous app? It worked fine. This new app is useless to me.
  • Chicago Tribune

It takes too long for the app to focus when enlarging the newspaper for reading.
  • H O R R I B L E !

    By Unhappy, kinda
Whoever developed and approved this horrible app, should be fired and never allowed to develop again. If this is as good as it gets, you need to bring back the old digital app. It was a prefect solution and exactly what your subscribers want. Not this over- thought, horrible excuse of a media app.
  • Bring back the old version

Just like any other news feed now after the update. I BUY this for the newspaper feel that is now gone.
