  • Cannot get out of browse screen to create new

    By Nrgwise
I am trying to convert as many tasks as I can to the iPad and have been mostly successful. The one area that would be most helpful is spreadsheets. Unfortunately Numbers continually fails to save my spreadsheets and when reopening the app, going to browse to find my spreadsheet, which isn’t there, there is no way to get out of that screen to create a new one. I have given up.

I have used this app for probably a year or so and learned to love it. Now I keep getting a message that I need to download an update before using. When I click go now (to update), the App Store doesn't have an update option...only an "open" option. I click it, it takes me back to the app. I then get the same update message. HELP!!!!!

  • Most recent file disappears

    By T12y87
3/30/19 When in files view, there are two buttons at bottom: ‘Recents’ and ‘Browse’. In version 5.0, in ‘Recents’ view, occasionally the most recent file disappears. The only way to open most recent file is to select ‘Browse’ view and navigate through folder tree. Very tedious. This used to work on previous version. 4/9/19 310p EDT I updated to v5.01. The ‘Recents’ tab now shows all files (after I open them). The date and time shown under each file on the ‘Recents’ tab is not the ‘last modified date’. It appears to be the ‘last opened date’. It’s a bit confusing but it’s way better than not being able to see the files. 4/9/19 440p EDT I like the fact that the ‘Recents’ tab uses the ‘last opened date’ for the files. This makes more sense than using ‘last modified date’. Please don’t change this. 4/15/19 505p EDT There’s no way to leave comments for the Apple Files app, so I’ll leave the comments here in the Numbers app. The latest version of the Apple Files app, on the iPhone X, no longer displays files on the ‘Recents’ tab according to ‘last viewed date’. It displays files according to ‘last modified date’. Apple, please change it back to ‘last viewed date’. This is very frustrating for file types such as pdf and jpg, because those file types are generally not modified when they are viewed, but you want them to be at the top of the list. That is how it was in previous versions of the Files app. Apple, please change it back.

This app used to work just fine, and I have plenty of files which I open regularly. But now I updated it (the worst decision ever) and it crashes every time I zoom in!!! Especially when I have a picture on it. “This update contains performance and stability upgrades” BULLSH*$*$&!!!

  • Tab delimited data won’t import

    By User1435
Update: Version 5 stopped allowing tab delimited data to be imported from the clipboard. This program is just inconsistent when it comes to updates. You just don’t know what feature you will loose next! Previous reviews: With the 3.1 update, the keyboard has become very cumbersome. It used to be user friendly. Now it takes 20 extra button clicks to enter information in a few cells. Please bring back the old methods!!! Update: I cannot say I noticed the "improvements" in the keyboard for version 3.1.1. Update 2: 3.1.2 Cells formatted for dates still don't bring up a date keyboard. Version 3.3: Finally they brought back the keyboards that are specific to cell formatting. Upping the review from 1 to 4 stars.
  • Fixed, thank you

    By reynhout
(Fixed in 3.3, happy again!) Numbers 3.1 removes the numeric keypad and convenient "Next ->" cell movement! This is a huge disruption to the common use case of entering tabular numeric data. I've restored to the previous version from a backup for now, but Apple please fix this!
