  • Always crashing!

    By RageCage Sr.
One of my joys in life is to read the paper on the ipad w a cup of coffeee in the morning. VERY difficult to do now that they have done something to the app that keeps freezing then shutting down randomly after a few pages of reading the paper. The app is apparently still active in the background but you need to swipe exit/kill app then try again. I hopes the recent updates would address whatever the problem is but nope. Horrible stability and development. Im on the latest version of iOS w a relatively recent ipad.
  • Junk

Poorly designed app. Prone to crashes. Gets one star because it is free.
  • And there goes the comment section.

    By iSlandeRon
I knew they were gonna ditch the ability to comment once they “suspended” the comment section to “make improvements”. Time to uninstall. 5/9/18. Updated app now it just gets stuck on Newsday screen when launched. IPhone 8 plus running ios 11.3.1. Unbelievable. 6/15/18 after discovering a week ago that if you use a ad blocking service like DNS adblock on WiFi like i do the app gets stuck on the loading screen. If you launch the app while on cellular ( no ad blocking ) the app works. NOW as of this review update the app just crashes out even after a phone reboot. Nice.

  • Newsday

I really enjoy reading Newsday, both in print and electronically.I have been a reader/subscriber of Newsday for over 30 years, and the content, layout and news coverage has been excellent, compared to other NY area newspapers. The content in Newsday is straightforward and accurate, without being sensationalized and overly dramatic. When Newsday allowed subscribers to comment on stories,Newsday went from an A to A+.The comments, whether good or bad,was allowed me to get a pulse on what most people were feeling, and told the story of what people were feeling, but were afraid to say.Our society today is too concerned with protecting the feelings of individuals, and tends to fantasize about how everything should be.Please! Bring back the comments to Newsday! I,along with many other subscribers, were sorry to see it go.I enjoyed the comments as much as the story itself.
  • Arrogant liberalism defined

    By falter11a11
Most of the articles are now written by high school students. Sometime up to ten writers for one disjointed article. No opportunity is missed to attack the duly elected president. The great journalists like Jimmy Breslin (sp) are gone, replaced by leftist management with propaganda writers, and good ones at that. True, the ill fated comments section was swarming with ignorant trolls. But some moderate to conservative posters lost there pulpit. Bring back the comments section and moderate it in a fair way. Ok
