Skype for iPhone App Details

The Skype you know and love has an all-new design, supercharged with a ton of new features and new ways to stay connected with the people you care about most. What can I do with Skype? • Messaging made awesome: More than just text. Send photos, videos, voice messages, emoticons, Mojis and more. You can also respond to any message from your contacts with reactions. • Great for groups: Add your favorite people and start chatting. Use groups to plan together, play together, for staying in touch or just for hanging out. • Call everyone - Skype, mobiles and landlines: Free* video and voice calls make it easier to stay connected with friends and family. You’ll also enjoy low calling rates to mobiles and landlines worldwide with Skype.  • Never miss a moment with quick capture: Quickly swipe to capture photos and videos. Make them your own by adding emoticons, stickers and annotations. • Share Highlights: Keep others updated with Highlights from your day. React to any highlights with awesome emoticons or send a private message about that highlight. Your highlights only stay visible for 7 days to your followers. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection. Upgrading to the new Skype may result in the deletion of content from older conversations. To save photos and videos that were previously sent or received in an older version of Skype, save that content to your camera roll/photo gallery before upgrading to the new Skype.

  • Doesn’t open

Crashes on iPhone 8 running on iOS 11 upon startup. Please fix.
  • Voice Dictation Keyboard GONE

    By ou812app
This version is terrible. I don’t want to Skype long messages on my on screen keyboard. I used to just click the dictation button on the keyboard and dictate text as I can EVERYWHERE else in the phone... but it’s been removed here. Why would you remove a key component that many with disabilities are typing dificulties use? Just return the voice dictation as it was before. Very disappointed.
  • I just realized...

  • Can we get this fixed

    By Borderlands God
I cannot get notifications outside of the app just happened when I got iOS 11
  • Terrible update difficult UI to use

    By Heavenma1989
I haven’t use Skype for a while and I don’t know when you guys updated it. But it turns out to be difficult to use. The most important dial panel is so difficult to find. What I want is an easy-to-use VoIP app.
  • Clear call

    By Chiliblindman
I live on fringe coverage for all networks. As the seasons change, so does my clarity in understanding calls. I like using Skype so my poor hearing has clear voices to work with.
  • Fire the developer team

I loved Skype 10 years ago when it did what I needed it to do. The latest update is trash. Period. It freezes every time I use it on both my old iPhone 5 and my brand new iPhone 7. I assume we can blame this in Microsoft since they seem to relish turning simple useful apps into over engineered train wrecks.
  • Unreliable to complete a phone call

    By Pipitim
the calls are often disconnected. The interface is not intuitive and you can't find all your account information. I have paid subscription with skype number, skype out and skype to go but the app is not my favorite feature of skype.
  • Credit not added!

    By RedOne Redoan
I have purchased $4.99 but it wasn't added into my Skype account!
  • Horrible interface, better performance!

    By Igo111
Latest release indeed has significant performance improvements, but usability is still not what I would expect. Still not convinced to increase the rating - the previous version was virtually impossible to use and the new is just inconvenient. Styles, highlights, photo, animations - if you like to introduce it make it an option or make it right. - no status view in a chat window (it use be on the left from the name) - no dedicated tab to search Skype contacts - this is actually functionality I use most often - no way to hide "capture" and "highlight" tab (absolutely useless for me) - no easy way to chat when on the call For many of us using Skype a long time it is about cross-platform real time communication and not about being "cool" and "social". ----- Skype was always easy and fast - best app to communicate online! Now it is slow, introduced new features that nobody needs and is missing on-line status! New version - still horrible! For many (if not all) of us Skype was always a great communication tools - why introducing "social" features by breaking the main functionality? Overall usability is horrible, but, I guess this is a new strategy of getting new user base, but could you think about the following: - Online status is now back, still small and difficult to see. - Search is extremely slow - make it fast again by giving an option to search my contacts only! - Some of my contacts have multiple phone numbers - only one is shown!
