  • Best Cooking App I Have Found…..

By How’s this for a Nickname?
I use this app almost everyday, it takes the hassle out of cooking, meal planning and grocery shopping. Recipe keeper is a great digital recipe box and allows you to easily collect, organize and view recipes from a variety of sources. If you have some cherished family recipes, you can type those in directly. You can also import recipes from around the web. Before this app, I had sort through multiple bookmarked websites for the recipes I wanted to use. “Pinning” them on one website still required me to look through each recipe and tally the ingredients for a trip to the grocery store. Recipe keeper allows you to copy the web address and directly input the recipe. Once the recipe has been entered it can be easily organized and added to a weekly / monthly meal planner. The shopping list feature is my favorite. It lists and organizes all the ingredients from the recipes you selected for your meal planner and generates a shopping list. You can then go to the pantry and cross off the items you already have before heading out to the grocery store. You can print a hard-copy of the list, or have a digital one right on your phone. I also like the fact that it sync’s to all your devices (you have to buy the app for each device, but it’s only $5!). Syncing allows me to use the app at home on my laptop and shop with my phone. It also allows multiple people to view the list which is great if my wife has to head to the grocery store, I can have her check the list for other items we need. Transferring over all my recipes took some work. Inputting an individual recipe from a website is easy, just a few clicks, but when you have over 700 recipes, it takes some time. But now that most of my recipes are in, living is easy! When I find a new recipe, I just “clip it” for my recipe keeper. Tech support is great too, and they have been adding updates to improve the app. Overall, I am very happy with the app, highly recommend it, and wish I had found it sooner. Try out the free version to get the feel of it and then buy the app, you won’t regret it.
  • Great program

    By 4CoolGrandma
I, like many others, find this app to be one of the best recipe programs yet. After adding recipes to the “free” portion Recipe Keeper I decided to purchase the Pro. I wanted to add more categories and the only problem I see at this time is that after adding a category, in this case Instant Pot, the newest catagory not showing up and unable to edit the title. A recipe that I entered under “Beef” shows up as “None” as the category title and no way to change it. This is a problem.
  • Best tech support ever!

Was having a problem deleting an photo, that came with an imported web page, and substituting one of my own.Problem solved after exchanging 3 or 4 emails within 10 minutes. Oh yes, The app is very good also.
  • So much better than paprika!

    By Natalie Stam
I had already paid for the Paprika iOS app, but was having a really hard time bringing myself to pay $20 for the OS X app, especially given that they STILL haven’t updated the mobile app to support iPhone X. I downloaded the free version of this app, and was immediately hooked (and the mobile app has iPhone X support!). The syncing between mobile and desktop is seamless, the app is extrememly easy to use and incredibly custimizable, and it only cost me $10 to get both the desktop and mobile app (vs. ~$30 for Paprika). To make it even easier, they can export paprika files into the app (once you figure out the horrible convuluted system that paprika uses to export the file). All in all, great purchase, my new favorite recipe keeper!
  • Best Recipe Manager App

    By Photo Happy Again
I’ve tried a few recipe managing apps over the years and this one I found to be the easiest to enter the recipe into. Also, adjusting the serving size was easy. Love it!
  • Needs a couple of features

    By Monkey Doodelle
I’ve been using the free version for a few weeks to test it out. There are a lot of features I like about Recipe Keeper, but there are two things that annoy me enough to choose a different app. The first is that there is no way to change the font that the program prints recipes in. The second is that when scaling recipes the unit conversions do not change to the most appropriate type of units - meaning that if an original recipe that has 1 tsp of a particular ingredient is scaled up x15 (to feed a crowd, for example) the new recipe also shows the ingredients measured in teaspoons (15 teaspoons). Instead, it should change to 5 tablespoons. I spoke to someone at the developers and they confirmed that there’s no way around this in this particular version. For now I’ll keep looking...
  • Love it on everything but my Mac

    By MountainTeacher
I love this app for my iphone and iPad as it syncs seamlessly. However, for some reason it will not let me purchase the full pro app on my Macbook pro. This is really frustrating as now I have recipes on my Mac recipe keeper app that aren’t on my iPad or iPhone. I really would love this app if it would work properly on my laptop. Just FYI- I have plenty of space on my Mac so it should download easily.
  • Misleading!

    By Chrissylou2
I am really upset that I in order for me to sync this app I must purchase it in each device! this is misleading and deceptive at best! The way it appears, you think you pay one time and then can sign in to any device and sync-nope! You must pay for each device!
  • Great Value, easy to use

    By lindeeg
This app is easy to use and does an amazing job of adding recipes from the web. I love that it's easy to shar the recipes with friends and family. I also like that the developer is responsive and I've seen the product improve over revisions.
  • Awesome recipe app

    By fireaxe79
I love the ability to find recipes and importing them on my computer and the sync with my iPhone and iPad. While shopping I can use the grocery list for shopping and while cooking I can use my iPad for the ingredients and directions. Well worth the price for both the computer version and iDevice.
