App Reviews

  • The website is good. The app isn’t.

    By Darkwing Dude
The app lacks functionality. You can’t even view your character sheet let alone build a character with the app. The website is really good for both though so go with that for now.
  • Love the site and app, but...

    By BeniAhuvah
It would be really nice to reference character sheet in app. Dice rolls would be cool, too. Right now, the app doesn't offer much. I'm hopeful and will update if it gets better. Right now there is 0 reason to use this apps current features.
  • Love the website; Hate the app

    By MelancholyElf
I can’t view any of the books I’ve bought. Always say that there was an error loading it. Don’t even know why I haven’t deleted the app yet.
  • Great content, buggy

    By TinEater
As far as I know, it lacks the character management and campaign tracking of the desktop site, but I mostly wanted it for the digital versions of the rule books. The layout and cross linking are very well done, making this a better way to reference rules at the table, compared to the printed books. I just it didn’t crash to desktop so often.
  • Just barely useful

    By Rorschach42
Right now, the app is crashing so frequently that I can hardly use it for anything. Takes for ever to load, is slow to navigate, and when tapping on links in pre-downloaded content that app just quits. Issue persists after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, force quitting the app, rebooting my phone, logging out and logging back in, and deleting and re-downloading the affected content. Don’t rely on this app! (Fortunately their web browser interface is much better. I’m almost not sure why they bothered to make this app, since it’s so buggy. Oh well.)
  • Awesome reader.

    By Kc-maverick
It’s a good book reader. I would love to see a viable ability to read character sheets that are stored in the web portal on my tablet or phone
  • Good... but....

    By Averigeidiot121
This app is good for the content, but I use this site to manage my campaigns, and the fact you can’t view character sheets from an app is ludacris. Pay a dev to make this happen, and this app would be worth a lot more.
  • Where’s the character sheets?

    By 9394&:!;!,&(59:@;!3!/&’ndbjskd
I like the app overall, but I really wish that character sheets were available on mobile.
  • Only good for digital books you buy through them

    By Lethann
So, first off for what the app is this isn’t that bad. It lets you customize how you want to read the book letting you adjust font size, page colorization, spacing, and justification. You can bookmark spots for quick reference and it’s got all the books and modules available. However if you’ve already bought your books elsewhere this is 100% useless unless you need something from the basic rules. There is no code or method to unlock digital books if you bought the physical ones. Even worse, you can’t access your d&d beyond character sheets from the app nor any other feature from the D&D Beyond website. It’s a glorified ebook reader at this point. Wouldn’t recommend this app at all until they start adding more features like view only character sheets at minimum. Editable sheets would be best and articles and forums seem a no brainer to me.
  • Sigh.

    By benabelm
I keep setting this app aside and coming back to it in hopes that it’ll be better than before, but it never happens. It’s nice that you can carry your books with you digitally, but it’s honestly more user-friendly to use the website. No actual game options, just the books. But the most disappointing part is the search engine. You’d think typing in “giant rat” would take you to the monster manual and show you the stat card for a giant rat. Well, it doesn’t. So I find myself scrolling through the books for things the same way I’d have to flip through a real one. Which leave me wondering what’s the point every time.
