  • Saved the day and our sanity

Our Truebill experience has been revolutionary. Due to some sneaky marketing tactics, we’ve been stuck with an ADT contract that billed monthly for a home that we no longer owned. We tried and tried to negotiate directly with them but they refused to cancel the remaining three years left on our contract. We downloaded Truebill with the hopes they could help us with this. It took just a few quick steps, we had connected our accounts to the app and they were going to protest ADT on our behalf. Amazingly, it worked and they ended up saving us nearly $300!!! I have no idea what magic negotiating tactics they use, but it’s far better than mine. On top of that, they saw Verizon was overcharging is and saved us $15/mo on our cell phone bill. Truebill is in a class of its own and is taking away so much minutiae that families stress over in an outsized way. They saved the day for us and are definitely worth checking out if they can work the same magic for you.
  • Better to Just Review Statements

    By desigirl5
*sigh* Within 6 minutes of downloading this app, I unlinked all my bank accounts and got rid of the app. The ONLY bill it was able to pick up was my Netflix bill. The app isn’t able to recognize other recurring bills even though they occur on the same day every month. It need quite a few changes to streamline what seems to be a great concept. Additionally, it only displayed my transactions from July 20th as the earliest date. Today is August 17th. This app is missing nearly ONE MONTH of information! Forget it. Go old-fashioned. Print out your statements. Sit down for 30 minutes and just review everything yourself.
  • Great visual platform, some minor issues

I downloaded TB to track my spending and find subscription charges I had forgotten about. I don’t have a cable or phone bill 😄 so I did not use this app to lower any payments. This interface looks great and is intuitive, and makes it easy for me to track my spending. However, there is a minor issue that needs to be fixed. TB can’t tell when some services will recur, if services could be set for the period that they recur that would be very helpful. I have annual and quarterly subscriptions that don’t pop up on the calendar because TB doesn’t pick up on when the next payment will occur.
  • Impersonate’s you to “Lower” bills

    By DavidZackBob
Like everyone else who reviewed the app, I was very excited at first. I linked a lot of my accounts which was easy and the interface is pretty good. My problem is when I had TrueBill negotiate my Verizon wireless bill. They asked if dropping down in data plan was okay with me and I said yes. The next business day Verizon calls my wife and informed her that a woman called claiming to be my wife and wanted to lower our data. Verizon questioned the caller and she just hung up. Here is my problem, I never was informed that TrueBill would impersonate me or my wife in order to negotiate the bill, that is called fraud. When I emailed the support they simply said that companies commonly think the representative who called is trying to steal information. TrueBill never addressed my concerns about them pretending to be my wife. They were fast to respond but completely avoided the issue/concern I had. My initial expectation was that TrueBill would have called Verizon and informed Verizon that they were from TrueBill and have authorization from the account holder to negotiate the bill down. Never did I expect or want some random woman pretending to be my wife. As far as the other features of the app, I can’t say much. I was so shocked at how the bill negotiation was handled that I am uninstalling this app. Do Not Use the Bill Negotiation!!

  • Awesome! But....

    By Eldaino
I love the interface and attention to detail and the ease of use of the app. This is the budgeting app I’ve always wanted. However I can’t add my Merrill Lynch benefits investment account; every time I try to add under the investments tab, it rejects the tap and goes back to the main homepage. Bug maybe? Would really like the app to take into consideration that info.
  • Wouldn’t even accept my phone number

    By Ammarrr666
No matter what format I use, says invalid phone number. If this is a US only app, then mention it up front clearly in the description.
  • Would love to try it out

I would love to try it out but when putting my email address in it was too big I could not get the m in com in there
  • Customer service is nonexistent

    By Alice Mar
I have messaged customer service twice, in order to get instructions on how to cancel the service that will be billed to my checking account each month. No reply. No email. Nothing. From the sounds of other reviews it will be months before I hear from them if it all. The only thing I can find is how to delete the app and that will not stop the money from coming out of my bank. I am not deleting the app until I cancel. And if I have not heard from them before the next billing cycle I will have to go through my bank in order to stop payment on this crap. I would also take care if you are using this app to lower bills, they might get you a lower rate by cutting out services that you’d rather keep. Less data, Any international calling on your cell phone plan, Insurance on your thousand dollar phone, the number channels on your cable, downgrade your internet, these are all things you can cancel on your own, you don’t need their help.
