Audiobus 3 App Details

Open up new worlds of creative music making possibilities with Audiobus, the app that lets you use your music apps together, just like virtual cables. Send live audio or MIDI from one Audiobus-compatible app or Audio Unit to another: add effects on top of your favourite synth, use your favourite step sequencer to drive the whole lot, and record it all in your favourite DAW, sampler or looper. Plug in a MIDI keyboard, run it through an arpeggiator or a key quantizer, and record the result in your DAW, or drive several different sound generators with a keyboard splitter. And control it all with a MIDI controller. The possibilities are endless. Then save your setup in a preset to be restored with one touch later on. With a completely new MIDI routing system, support for Apple's new Audio Unit Extensions standard, a new built-in mixer, MIDI learn, and huge new workflow improvements, Audiobus 3 represents a big step forward for mobile music making. Audiobus has a rich community of over a thousand great compatible apps, including: - Korg Gadget - GarageBand - Launchpad - Animoog - Loopy HD - Cubasis - Amplitube and many more. See the full list at What the internet is saying about Audiobus 3: "Audiobus is the most essential audio app on iOS." - Charlie Sorrell, Cult of Mac "[The| New MIDI routing and effects set to open up a whole new world of apps!" - Tim Webb, "Audiobus is one of the most intriguing and powerful additions to the iPad's music ecosystem." - Federico Viticci, "Audiobus 3 revolutionizes iOS music making again" - Audiobus: Your music apps. • MIDI Hardware Control

    By polarpaul
The new IAP makes it easy to control all aspects of your Audiobus sessions with your MIDI hardware and be able to easily recall your setups. With MIDI learn, you can easily mix and match MIDI hardware plus this also works with Bluetooth MIDI too. Audiobus 3 will remember specific controls for specific pieces or MIDI hardware in each preset. You can easily create templates for your MIDI controller setups and put in various synths, filters, eq, and effects as desired. I like to use a foot pedal to start/stop play plus being able to mute/bypass audio/MIDI app sources in a setup allows for great flexibility in performances or for dialing in sounds without having to navigate screens. Being able to use an iPad in conjunction with an iPhone to use MIDI apps which take advantage of the phone’s built-in sensors is very useful for controlling multiple parameters simultaneously.
  • Excellent support

Top notch support and only getting better
  • I still find Audiobus terrible to use.

Are you serious that Audiobus doesn’t include an internal keyboard?! I stop wasting time with their forum, which has a lot of incorrect, outdated information. Forums are how to deflect support and doing things on the cheap. Apparently there is no longer a pdf user manual for Audiobus. The forum said to click on an apparently no longer existing Help icon for a PDF version of the manual. Under settings there is access to online help but that is unsearchable (plus you need to have access to the Internet. Videos basically are a waste of time if you are after an answer to a single question as you have to watch the whole video which might not even cover that topic you’re after. I’ve always preferred AUM for the ‘common sense’ was it’s designed.
  • Still just ok

Ever since I got my 10.5 ...I bought BeatMaker 3...hoping to transition from my iPhone to a larger format...I mainly use NI iMaschine2...which is getting long in the tooth ..but I’m highly efficient and it is my goto pocket production tool. Moving on to the iPad I wanted a newer updated experience using some of my soft synths I love but couldn’t incorporate with iMaschine2 easily so I purchased AudioCopy to make it a reality... Honestly I hate the way I have to connect it through beatmaker3.. there’s no easy way to use it with out coming out of the bm3...I can’t change’s clumbersome..and don’t see a need to use it since bm3 can see most of my synths through audio units... So that’s a waste of money to me and for my’s meh!
  • Not Working

    By Zetm1109
Tried several synths through several apps then to system output. No audio. Waste of $10.
  • Indispensable for me

    By I'llbeonthefonetoyou
Connects virtually everything to everything. Simple and solid. It’s the first app I launch when it’s time to play and/or work. Finally had to write this review to say thanks for helping me make music like never before.
  • Already a must-have for serious play

And this becomes more so, with every update
  • Not working with RMX 1000 any longer!

    By KS 360
Don’t know what happened but ever since the last few updates Whenever I use The RMX 1000 with The AB 3 app it crashes, please fix ASAP!
  • Must have app if you do anything with audio!

    By icanhazapple
Such a useful tool if you do anything with audio. External Soundcard routing is indispensable! Just wish I could route Music to anything.
