  • App keeps crashing when viewing photos

    By Tom484848
I love this app, but as of recently the entire app crashes when I attempt to click on a photo someone has sent in the group chat. This is a very frustrating issue to deal with and I hope it can be resolved soon.
  • Too many bugs

Allo’s performance with images is woeful. Images in chats often appear in a low-resolution format only and won’t download the full-resolution version. Other times the thumbnail in the chat is full-resolution but when you tap to see the full-sized image all that appears is a black box. When you enter the app, it stops any music or radio stream you might have been listening to, even if you haven’t tapped on a video clip to play. More troubling, even though I have background app refresh turned off for this app, the battery usage screen in the Settings app shows that Allo has used 8% of my battery over the last 7 days, *with 8 hours in the background vs. 55 minutes on screen*. I’ve toggled the settings off and on and reinstalled the app, and it made no difference on my iPhone X. The predictive text is good for a laugh, but I doubt that was the developer’s goal. The only positive thing I can say about the app is that the near constant crashes I used to suffer through seem to have stopped finally.
  • Used for work

We connected our “message us” on our google business page to Allo so we can get messages when away from the office. It’s been a great tool for customers to contact us easily, but I wish there was a way to set an auto reply so if it’s after hours, someone doesn’t have to always be available via the app all hours of the night.
  • Can’t use. Won’t stop crashing.

  • Love!

I do not want to go back to iMessage after using this app! I love that we can change the theme fitting the situation! Like a darker one for night! And if we get bored one one theme we can go to another. Which brings me to the suggestion of adding more themes? Or even letting us customize our own themes! That’d be pretty cool :) I also love the stickers, they are adorable and perfect for keeping the conversation a little more fun! Overall I this is my favorite messaging app could not recommend this enough.

Out of all the possible options to message friends from telegram , Signal, WhatsApp or iMessage. Google has allo which doesn't feel as it's complete, copy and paste an image sometimes generates links and gifs don't work from iPhone gallery. But this is what you'll expect from Google. At least get rid of link to number and put it to Gmail that way you can use multiple devices. As of 2/17 gifs still do not play.

  • Ignores Do Not Disturb

    By judson888
This app ignores do not disturb mode, and will create sounds even when it is turned on. In general the app is fine, but not great.
  • Love It but

I wish It would get their act right. What I mean is that I wish they would actually show who has this app and who doesn't. My phone shows that every contact on my phone has this app which is not true.
