  • Could be better!

Very disappointed with the lack of updates to the US map system. So far we have used CopilotRV for around 1200 plus miles. Some freeways are not marked correctly, i.e. East bound should be west bound, l75 south going to 475 was not listed. Luckily I got it figured out in time. Overall I will give it 3 stars. Over all I will not recommend CoPilot RV until they start updating.
  • Used & continue to use

We have used this app now for this first year of full timing in our 40ft 5th wheel toyhauler. We compared this to other apps for RVs and trucks and I have found this easiest to use and configure. We have had a few experiences of having to turn around (hubby not happy) in a tight place or led us wrong, it still is the app I rely upon to get us on the road and to our destination. It’s just one of our tools in conjunction with calling the camp or park for directions, looking at paper maps, and another maps app. Setting places of interest is helpful to notify of rest stops, gas stations, etc. Be sure to set up your rig size and weight. The one thing that really is a drawback is that the app doesn’t say the exit name or number. It says, Up ahead, take exit ______”. Unlike Google Maps or IOS Maps app, which tells you the exit number or name.
  • Waste of money

This is the most cumbersome mapping program I have ever tried to use. A total waste of money. I would have given it zero stars if that was an option.
  • Why the changes

We’ve been using Co Pilot for our RV for months and LOVED the great turn by turn directions. She would tell you exit numbers and even said turn now. Then last week it all changed- now there is a sultry voice Lisa talking sexy and not giving nearly as many prompts. Wondering if there is anyway to go back to the way it was?
  • Don’t trust it!!!

This GPS took us up a mountain road that we never should have been on. The whole purpose of getting this app was to prevent finding ourselves in that type of situation. (Edited to add that I did report the road in the app as a “map issue” before posting this review, and I have not yet received a response to that.)

I’ve tried multiple different settings and the app continually takes us off an interstate or major freeway onto tight and crowded city streets using a slower route (opposite of what it should do). This happened again today when we were traveling to a campground about a mile off the interstate. Instead of taking us to the exit off of the interstate where the campground is located it had us exit several miles prior going through a small city. It made zero sense so we made the block and got back on the interstate. I estimating that it would have taken an additional 20 minutes using the apps’ route. Additionally we have our profile height set to 13’9” and the app took us on a route the went under a bridge that was advertised as 13’4”.
  • Not so good

I was hoping this would be an improvement on Google Maps. Yes and no. It is missing the campground I drove to today. When I gave It the address, it was off by three blocks. I find the robotic voice annoying. Aside from that, it does know the size of my RV. Don’t know if It uses that information. And it has more input on the speeds I drive, so arrival times are more truthful. Being a year old, it is due for a refresh.
  • Jury is out...but I have concerns

This is a follow up to my initial review which is below. I have been using copilot now for about 5000 miles and although the interface is a bit clunky...once it is set up and navigating I find it very clear and effective. It adds miles to my trip based on my settings...but those miles are driven with peace of mind regarding overpasses and tunnels and such. Happy I bought the app. I bought this because I’m on an extended trip with my 43 foot 5th wheel which is 13’6” tall. The gps isn’t the most user friendly...but once I got used to it I was beginning to think it is ok. Then I got directions to the pro football hall of fame and it missed the mark by like 3 miles. Way way off. I hope it is better at avoiding low bridges than at finding massively famous POI.
  • Worthless with this version

I don’t like writing bad reviews but unfortunately I have to. I paid a lot of money for this app and it’s not working at all for me. I had to use a regular CoPilot app instead of RV one and even with that, their search functions and user interface is simply cumbersome and horrible. I find myself hoping that Google would just add RV features to their Maps and wipe CoPilot out of business. I root for small companies like CoPilot but they have to design this right, user friendly and simple. It’s not.
  • Not impressed. Planning features need much work

First, if your rv is a towable instead of motorized, this app has no input for your specs. Also, the planning is weak at best. We are currently heading south and plan to stop in about 4 hours. We have set our “next stop” but the app will not search for campgrounds in that area, only local to where we are currently. The only advantage I have seen over our outdated Tom Tom or google maps is a better estimate of arrival time. Interface is not intuitive, and clunky at best when trying to navigate or browse for information. Did not meet expectations and would not recommend at this point.
