Later we created Surviving High School and Cause of Death, the first games with episodes, for EA. Both games hit the Top 25 and were inspirations for other companies. After leaving EA, our team regrouped in a small office and with the quacking of nearby ducklings we set out to create story-driven games with heart. As Pixelberry, we launched two hit games, High School Story and Hollywood U. Our team has now grown to over a dozen of the most experienced game writers in the industry. In our 10 years of creating story games together, we’ve seen heartbreak, marriages, great adventures, and even Pixelbabies. But even through diaper changes and late nights, we think we’ve created our best work to date. We hope you’ll fall in love with our newest characters, Chris, James, Kaitlyn, Dave, and Sam just as we have. Enjoy, - The Pixelberry Team

  • Fun but costly

Kinda expensive if you want any real decisions in the game. Really great story, but I don’t want to pay 2 bucks every time there’s a decision. However, it is good enough that I’d gladly pay 10 bucks for 1 month of unlimited Diamonds.
  • Good game, terrible app

The stories in themselves are well written and engaging, however the app requires you to pay an outrageous amount. I’m fine with in-app purchases, but this is ridiculous.... you don’t even get your money’s worth. And when you don’t pay for the options, it hurts you in the story. I’d be willing to give a good rating but the writers know about this problem and have promised to do something, yet several months later nothing has changed. It’s really disappointing that such a good game is being brought down by problems that could easily be solved.

I have bought a lot of gems and the high school book is pretty costly with wayy too many diamonds I have to use. Every choice should not have to be paid for with diamonds to make the game interesting. I understand paying for outfits but going on certain or ALL adventures shouldn’t ALWAYS cost you a chunk of diamonds. I played the freshman book when it first came out and it seemed pretty reasonable, but the high school one seems like you have to pay diamonds to do anything. It makes the developers of the app look money hungry. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the stories. But I had over 1,100 diamonds when I started the high school book and after I finished it I had 768. & I didn’t even choose all the options with diamonds. Just seems a little excessive. I’ve spent good money on this app and I really admired the developers before doing the high school book 1. I don’t mind spending diamonds, but making it drain my diamonds account like that is pretty absurd.
  • Cheesy

Writing is as cheesy as it gets, which...ok. Would be fine, but "Choices"?? You don't get any choices. They SPORADICALLY let you pick one of three things, two of which cost you Diamonds. And of course, the "good" choices are always there, leaving you with the lame one...the lame outfit to wear, "I'm just gonna go home to bed", that kinda crap. Oh, and you only get to play two chapters every 4 hours! You have to spend a Key to read a chapter, you only get two Keys at a time, and it takes them two hours to replenish. The concept is cool, reminiscent of the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books, but the writers went overboard and wanting money for things. Oh, and if you thought this mimicked real life, you'd think everyone in the world is bi.
  • CHANGE THE TIME!!!!

I love the game and the stories, I just hate that it takes so long to be able to read a new chapter. One chapter every hour in a half, for the short amount of time it takes to go through them is ridiculous. I could see if you did 4 or 5 chapters every hour, that’s reasonable. It’s not enjoyable having to wait so long for one chapter.

This game is so much fun. I wish there was a way to play more. You run out of keys continue pretty fast, it’s kind stinks.
  • Great game but way too expensive

To make the decisions I know to be right in the game cost way too much money and the wrong choice for my budget. Seriously only ONE diamond per story and NO other way but paying sky high prices to get them. $40 for 550 diamonds and most choices cost 25-30 diamonds some even more! $40 doesn’t even get you through ONE full story and most stories have cliffhangers to sequels and MORE demand of your money! I stupidly paid to finish the Royal one, and terrible ending after all that money spent. Now a sequel demanding MORE... fair warning. Do NOT get HOOKED!

So I downloaded this game to pass time but it takes two hours just to get one key to unlock the next chapter and on top of that you spend twenty diamonds on a decision like cmon now.... Give the consumer more bang for buck! If it was around ten diamonds we'll be more open to purchasing diamonds packages or at least do a flash sale... Just something to think about... All in all its a fun game!
