Fanfic Pocket Archive Library App Details

This app is an UNOFFICIAL fanfiction Reader for the Archive Of Our Own (AO3) site. I created it because I am a fan of fanfiction, and I wanted to help people access the stories they love. No subscription is needed to use this app. Downloading and using this app is not a substitute for getting an Invitation to post stories on AO3; nobody needs an Invitation to read stories on AO3, or give kudos. Archive Of Our Own is created, hosted and maintained by a team of volunteers, and they do not ask anyone to pay to share or read stories on the site. If you are kind enough to give me a "tip" that money goes to me, not to The Organization for Transformative Works or AO3. Thank you for using Unofficial fanfiction Reader for the Archive Of Our Own (AO3) site! Search your favorite fanfics by multiple tags, exclude tags, search by fandom, fanfic title, author, characters and other options; read fanfics right from the app with no need to open them in separate reader app, download the best fanfics for later offline access. Log in to AO3 to access your bookmarks (favorite bookmarked fanfics), check your History, leave kudos (likes) and view and leave comments for the fanfics. Night Reading Mode: switch to day/night theme by using icon on Navigation Bar while reading the fan fiction story. Fullscreen mode: tap in the centre of the screen while reading the fanfic to enter full screen, tap again to go back to normal view. When you launch the app, it shows list of fanfics from AO3 main page. To filter results use Search option. To view fanfic, click on the item with its description. Then you will be taken to the fics details page which show all the information including author name, title, number of chapters, kudos, comments, views and other info about the story (fandom, characters, relationships etc). As AO3 doesn’t have any API, so issues do occur. Thanks for understanding. The application includes Auto-Renewable Subscription (Prosub). Once you have purchased it, the subscription starts. Since then every week you will get digitally generated recommendations of fan fics (fan fiction works). Subscription length is 1 month and it its auto-renewable. The subscription price is 0.99$ per month. Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period. Privacy Policy and Terms of Use link: Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication.

  • Great premise, but a couple problems

    By Problem? Xxxx
I love this app for a couple reasons: 1.) I’m able to download fics and keep them in one place. I travel frequently and don’t always have access to wifi/lte, so being able to have this function is fantastic. 2.) being able to get notifications when fics are updated is great. I’ve noticed that most of the time, the notifications come in a day late or so, but it’s better than not being alerted at all. However, my biggest issue at the moment is the battery drainage. My phone will go from 100% down to under 50% in less than an hour if I don’t have it plugged in. I haven’t seen any updates roll out to address this issue, but it’s one of the most glaring issues holding this app back for me. My second issue is the pro subscription. I signed up for it a few months back, and I am still unable to access the pro features including an upgraded downloads capability and the recommendations tab, despite receiving notifications for new recs. For reference, I purchased the monthly subscription. Normally, I’d immediately withdraw my financial support since I’m not receiving the benefits promised for it, however I would prefer my money go into improving the app and the upkeep associated with it. It’s an annoyance, and one I would like to see fixed sooner rather than later. TL;DR: I make frequent use of the app, and I find it useful. My only complaints are how much battery it drains without the device being charged, and my issue with the subscription implementation.

love this app. great and easy way to read fan fics. any way that there might be a tts option in the future? would love to listen to the fics while busy with other tasks. copying the entire chapter and having siri read it out loud can be difficult at times
  • Pretty good

This is my preferred way now to read fics from AO3. What would make this app even better would be if you could sort and filter fics when you look at fics by tag. Another great feature would be to directly subscribe to a work or author from the app instead of having to return to the AO3 website in order to do so. Otherwise, great app!

    在AO3上能找到的文这边基本上也能找到最近在重温Silicon Vally,找到了不少好文。还可以下载,挺方便的。希望越做越好吧。

This app seems like it would be awesome... but even though it says I’m successfully logged in nothing syncs.

I haven't paid for the premium version so this is all a review of only the free app. First, I'm mostly just super grateful that there's an app that lets me read AO3 works on my phone, I don't like having to pull up my laptop whenever I want to read so this is wonderful! I do think a few things could be improved though. There aren't really good ways to categorize the fanfiction I'm reading, following, have read and enjoy, and which are my favorites. Granted this is the same on the base website, so I don't expect that to be changed in the app, but it would be a nice feature. I have had some formatting issues when reading, sometimes the text fits my phone screen perfectly, but sometimes it's zoomed out with a large blank space on the right side. I can zoom in and continue to scroll, so again it isn't like it keeps me from reading it, but it would be nice to have all of the fanfics formatted correctly. This could be an issue with the site as well, and not fixable by the app itself. The search function is the main thing I think could be improved, on the website it's possible to scroll through and click different options that filter through fanfics to find one you want to read, and although there are some remnants of that on the app, you can't filter search results by relationships you don't want to read about, crossovers, word count, etc like you can on the site. All in all, I mostly feel the need for better search functions, and a better "virtual bookshelf" to sort my different fanfics on. That being said I adore this app for the convenience of reading fanfics on my phone and am so thankful it exists.
  • All the content, not the best organized

    By Izzy_gr
I appreciate that the app exists and everything it does; but it has a couple issues: -searches need to be exactly worded -can’t sort within a tag (e.g. if you click an author’s name, you can’t sort the results)
