App Reviews

  • Can’t become member

I’ve subscribed and my account says I subscribed on iTunes however does not reflect that on my rooster teeth account. I can’t watch anything and so no point. 0/10 thankfully it is easy to cancel the subscription.
  • Almost able to use chromecast.

Big improvement being able to watch posted vids on TV, but Still no ability to send live content to chromecast. Android TV app would be even better, but that’s a whole different project. Searching for something should DEFINITELY apply some form of auto sorting automatically. For instance, most of the time when I search for Glitch Please I want to see the most recent episode, but who knows where in the list it’ll appear.
  • Newest layout changes a step backwards

The newest changes to the layout make it much harder to view content from a single creator at a time. Feels much more like I’m being forced to scroll through content from other creators that I don’t want to watch.
  • Good content. App needs work.

Ever since the 2.1.0 update I have been getting constant buffering. My internet is not the best but I’ve never had this before. YouTube works fine but this app for some reason does. I’d also like better organization of videos. It seems like since the last interface change there’s no easy way to get to specific series.
  • Missing features, especially for the watchlist

The app has been vastly improved recently, and I'd like to switch over from primarily using YouTube as my mobile viewing platform for RT content, both because I pay for FIRST and would like a seamless viewing experience between shows like Always Open+Still Open and Off Topic+Last Call, and because of the various issues with YouTube supporting content creators, but unfortunately the app is just not there yet. The watchlist in particular needs a LOT of work—there's an ability to add series to your watchlist, which I assumed would cause new episodes to be added to the Episode tab of the watchlist as they're added to series on the Series watchlist. This isn't the case as of this review, and I'd really like to see it added as a feature. Even when adding episodes to the watchlist manually, there are only options to sort videos by Title (A to Z) and Title (Z to A). Without options to sort by Date Uploaded or Date Added to Watchlist, the app falls far short of the functionality I was hoping for. I'll be sticking with YouTube viewing for now but I hope the watchlist will receive some updates soon.
  • Its a fine app, but it could be better.

Short Version: Here's a short list of the most wanted futures from the reviewers: -The video quality setting. -Minimization of the video so you can look for other content while watching the video. -Double tap seconds forward/back. -If a video is part of a series, add a way to get to the next part or at least a way to the videolist/playlist. -A News/RT Staff Note section added. I like to actually be informed of the things RT is/has been doing. Long Version/Opinion: It's a nice way of getting to RT content for mobile(phone, tablet, etc.) users. It's a lot more easier and reliable than using the website on mobile. Actually it's the only way apparently since the website doesn't work on mobile anymore. However, it still has problems. Now, from what I'm seeing from others' reviews: Futures have been removed(or were never added) in the update, and they were needed/wanted. If it's a huge bug, it needs to be fixed. If it's not, well then the RT app team should add them (back) in. Here's a BIGGER list of the most wanted futures from the reviewers: -The video quality setting. Maybe have the icon be a radio and have the radio be to the right of the Browse Rocket. -Better video recommendations. -A way to read more than three sentences. I actually want to see the rest of what commenters are saying. -A little more color. This one is optional though. -Airplay, apparently. I don't use it, but add it in for people who do. -A better slider to scrub through a video. -A way to change your name in app. That's a personal one though, I don't want to be user1274+ something anymore.
  • Just some minor issues

I love that there is an app now to watch all of the Rooster Teeth content instead of having to open and browser and watch it that way. However, I do wish that there would be a feature like in YouTube where you can swipe down on a video and it will still keep playing but in a small window form at the bottom right so I can scroll through other videos I would be interested in. Secondly, I prefer to cast the videos onto my bigger TV (particularly when I just want to have the video in the background while I'm doing something else on my phone) but there is severe connection lag. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the app itself, however, I really cannot watch through casting :(

I love the product. Wish it could play in background but it’s the only concern
  • Just a suggestion

I wish that there was a way to view the journals that Roosterteeth employees write, instead of having to go to the website. I would like to see the app be a little bit more social than just one to watch videos and livestreams on.
  • Bad update.

New update blows, takes me waaaay longer to get to the content I’m after. I have RT first for two things, AH and FH. I am not a fan of the other shows on rooster teeth. I don’t want to have to search around for ages to find these two things.
